Replacement struts for the wagon.

Just brought the wagon in for an oil change and also had the hatch struts changed because it stopped opening fully. Kept banging my head. (freak) Fortunately, it was under warranty (35 months). I now find it opens a lot slower. Any idea how to make it open faster? I don't want to use the wrong lube and mess up the struts.

could it be because the struts are new they just need a little "break in" time? I went through that with the back window on the bed topper for my F-150, I noticed after about a week of using it they started to open faster......

brand also matters.... do you know what brand your struts are?
