Been looking around but I can't seen to find a clutch that would have the same firmness as stock. I like it being stiff and I want to keep it the same or maybe a little bit stiffer. Any ideas? Thanks

from the protegefaq:
Is it true that the MP3 has a stiffer clutch pedal (pressure plate)?
No, all the transmission components used in the MP3 are the same as the one
used in the normal 2.0 liter (LX/ES) sedan.
that said, stock OEM replacement from exedy is a direct fit, and the exedy stage 1 is an upgraded unit that is said to retain most of the stock feel. the MSP also uses an upgraded clutch that would be a direct fit. hope this helps

who ever made that state ment has never drivin an mp3 with a stock clutch then its stiffer than whats in an msp or the one i drove atleast. im not sure how much exedy differs in models but my brother has one in his civic and its horrible imo. yes i know im picky :)

I'm running the stage one with no issues.

If no Dino has a Spec +3 clutch in his car that he likes.

all 2.0L protege (w/ sport suspension):
fs05-16-410 clutch cover (pressure plate)
fs06-16-460 clutch disc
G560-16-510B clutch release collar (bearing)
G560-16-520 clutch release fork
FE69-16-102A clutch release fork pin

mazdaspeed protege:
LF03-16-460 clutch disc
LF02-16-410 pressure plate
G561-16-510B release bearing
KL03-16-520A clutch release fork
F202-16-102A clutch release fork pin

i am not saying i don't believe you, i only test drove an MP3 and i own a 2.0L ES, i am not an expert by any means. the above is a list of parts for both standard protege and the mazdaspeed, if you know of part numbers specific to the MP3 it would help this community a lot.

exedy is the original equipment mfg for the protege, hope that helps in making your decision.

i thought the mp3 was a reg protege with sport suspension in mazdas database? maybe somehow somebody put an after market clutch in my car before the 60k mark for some weird reason? maybe ill just have to adjust to the exedy. i was thinking about the act heavy duty but i cant really justify the cost
