Replacement brake rotors/pads?

:
Mazda3 Grand Touring 5-Door
I know there has been much discussion on the cruddy OEM brake/rotor combos that come on our Mazda2's and I'm wondering if anyone has switched to any aftermarket rotors/pads/calipers and what has been your experience with certain brands?

I'm not simply interested in pads, as the stock rotors are also junk for the most part, so I want any advice with pad and rotor combos. I'm looking to eventually remove the brake vibration/shudder by ditching the "uneven pad deposit-hungry" stock rotors for a much improved set-up. Also want to keep the stock wheels, so that would exclude some big brake kits. Any advice?

I have EBC green stuff pads with GD turbo groove discs (slight wind noise from the rotors but i quite like it :D )

They are great however i've not tried them on track yet.
they bite much sooner feels like i could stop on a sixpence (old small british coin! haha) :D

Sorry for the late reply, thanks. Yeah, I've heard good things about EBC and Hawk, just not sure what rotors and pad combos work the best. I'll have to keep the GD's in mind, not sure if they offer them across the pond in the states. By the way, really cool that you have a 323 GTR, must be a blast!

I'm running EBC greenstuff pads and EBC USR slotted rotors. A bit of Vibration at certain speed braking, but SUPER sticky. I wouldn't mind trying a more aggressive compound, but I can easily suck the skin off your face under hard braking.

There is zero fade under aggressive street braking. Have not tried on the track yet, but I feel confident that they'd hold up well.

Found the stock pads to be good for three very hard track days. Smoking and all on the last afternoon, they recovered each lap, so they could smoke again.
Replaced the stock pads with Porterfields. Great pads, this set was for street and autox, not recommended for track use, but used for a number of track events. Stopped real well, still in good shape. Wanted more of a track pad so went to CarboTech. Great pad. Squeaks a little on the street. Using the original stock rotors. They're fine. No shudder, no shake, no vibration.

I just switched to Hawk Street pads and Centric Rotors from Good-Win Racing. My only gripe is that the street pads are a little noisy. It's just a biproduct of using a harder compound pad in a car that insulates road noise like... not at all. As far as the feel and function, I'm extremely happy compared to stock. My stock setup was complete garbage.

Hi , I am new to this forum . I need to replace my Front brake pads and rotors on my Mazda 5 2010. As i have never attempted this before any advise and links would be helpful.

I am looking specifiaclly for the exact torque settings that need to be applied to the Caliper bracket bolts, Caliper bolts and the Wheel Nuts.

Thanks in advance
Mike

I'm getting 2 sets of Corksport brake pads for our Mazda2's. Both cars need replacements, my car need a set of rotors also. I'll shop for a good set for DD and some track days.

Buying in october so I got lots of time to shop :)

I'll look around a post what I find in this thread to help others if they need help finding parts.

Good choice on the corksport pads. love them. I'm using some cheepo rotors stoptech i think. I do autox my car and daily it and have had no issues. I hope corksport doesnt stop making these pads!
