You're probably right, but I never race in a straight line. :P

J/K, isn't that new car smell the s***?
When my P5 was totaled (over two years after the purchase date), it still had the new car smell!

First thing i would do is fix that soft suspension... other than that that car can be a monster with just plain ass bolt-on's

It's not that impressive of a car..

Im impresed because a friend of mine has a very modded one... and it's surprising for something with NO torque what so ever (shocked)

A Highly Modded Lada is Impressive..

Thre Car is not that great.

Maybe instead of just saying the RSX-S "is not that great," you can provide some concrete reasoning? Seems like you've never driven one. I can say one thing though, the RSX-S is definitely a step up from the P5 in nearly every department (except for passenger room). If you have nothing better to say, you shouldn't post in this thread.

Not everyone will like the same thing...

I like the RSX. The Type-S is a very great platform for a sport compact. It's decently quick in stock form, has lots of aftermarket support, it responds EXTREMELY well to modifications/bolt-ons, has a strong bottom end, it's a beautiful looking car.

I'm not sure how the direct comparision...which i guess is supposed to be a Protege5...hits any of those points either.

Most refined I-4 ever made.
Chassis responds to upgrades well.
Great Fit and Finish
Slick 6 spd k series tranny.
Can make mid 200whp NA without too much work (P5 needs a turbo (boom07) )
Styling always debatable
Not too worried about a car's ethnicity.

Do you have something more substancial aside from a personal bias?

only thing yuck about it is the PRICE! 23-24K for a FWD car? 20-21K is pushing it. IMO I will never pay over 20K for a FWD car.

And its not cheap at all to mod at all...nothign is cheap. And not to mention Hondas are targets to alot of people. And I didnt believe how much oil the car goes through.

Thats the only yuck part I see of the car.

other then that its a pretty nice ride, great power band. I love high reving engines...although im not a huge fan of the K20. IMO most refined 4 banger would be the oringinal F20C ;) Not a bad car at all.

Nice choice overall!!(thumb) woulda look dead sexy with the (HFP) package. Just to let you know with I/RH/E ESMM, IMG will net you in the high 13's, with Hondata#4 should put you in the Mid 13's. I love the RSX-S in every way, the K20Z3 respond's better to mod's then the Previous K20A2 did. Due to the Advance timing, better gear ratio, and TypeR cam's +10hp=(lol2)

People constantly argue about how RWD/AWD is better than FWD, but in reality, 99.9999% of those people will never drive the car to the limits. I guarantee you will never feel the different between a FWD/RWD/AWD car in a normal driving situation. But even if you claim RWD/AWD is vastly superior to FWD, why do you see RSXs, TSXs, Protegs and Mazda6s in SPEED World Challenges? Ever heard of the Integra Type R?

And its not cheap at all to mod at all...nothign is cheap.
The same can be said about any brand car. I mean, seriously, these are the Mazda forums where there are countless thread expressing "interest" in products, but complain about the price when the product is actually released.

And I didnt believe how much oil the car goes through.
That's not true, I don't know where you got that from.

Yes, I know, it's been mentioned a hojillion times. Sorry, I'm not interested in straight line performance at all. Show me an autocross or road course and I'm all over that.

I'm pretty sure the 2006 RSX-S uses the K20Z1 engine. The Z3 is in the 2006 Civic Si.
