Hey, yep, you can change the color of anything in the dash. Im in the process of writing up a tut for doing this. you kinda have to be daring to get all the colors to match though...
some interior lights are LED based, most are bulbs with green gel overtop of them to give the green hue.
The LCD at the top... couple things.. all powered by plcc-2 smd white leds (15 or so) You really cant get to them unless you de-solder the LCD from the silicone pcb. If your good at soldering, sure, that wont be a problem. there are numerous fingers that attach the lcd to the pcb, it would be better to just do a clean cut across them, and solder them back together again. Its hard to visualize if you've not taken it apart.
The process reqires you to take the center dash apart, and take off the radio cover to get access to two screws holding the LCD cowl to the dash. after that just pop it off.
The green on the LCD is made by a white diffuser (slip of white plastic) with green transparent paint on the surface. You can clean off the paint with any sort of rubbing alcohal or whatever. then it will just be a white diffuser, back-lit white. Im ordering in some Gel sheets. they're used in film and broadcast overtop of spot lights, you see them in clubs too... anyhow, the product is called Rosco (Rosco gel sheets) and you can buy these sheets in just about any color you can think of, or mix and match for different colors. they're like plastic colored transparencies. You can slip the gel sheet infront of behind the diffuser, and when the leds kick in, you'll get your color. I have yet to get my sample pack so i dont know which is better, to have the color behind or infront of the diffuser.. probably in front, but ill do a couple tests.
As for the rest of the dashboard, you can strip off the green coloring on the bulbs and do the same what you do for the LCD.. use the gel sheets to give you a nice even color... cut the gel to fit in behind each button that has light shown through. cant do single sheed to get it all, just no room.
Or, you can take out the bulbs and install some SMD leds... plcc-2 are really bright, but the colors you can get are limited. blue is obviously not as bright (thats just blue for you... white gives you a 18,000mcd, blue will give you 5,500mcd, 180 degrees).
My recomendation would be to install the white SMD's, and use the gel sheets to produce the color for the rest of the dash. this way, its nice and bright, and whatever color you want

the plcc-2's are cheap to buy off ebay in packs of 50. you may be able to find them local to you. Theres a couple different types out there, some with multiple leds in one, some with multiple colors... you just want to get the ones with a ground, and a positive lead.
the guage pod, im not sure yet, i have to open that up.
Funny thing is, the clock | set buttons are the same LEDs as the LCD, but green, and it seems to match the rest of the green thats produced off the filiment bulbs in the rest of the dash.
it wont be a quick project, but you have to venture to test if using the colored sheets with the stock bulbs would give you the effect you want. if its too dark, then you may need to install some smd's.
But, like i said, im doing this right now, my lcd is taken apart, the diffuser is out (bit of a paint to take out too) and ill be doing my lights to be a bright blue. I'll shoot you some shots if your interested before i publish a tut... which may be a while. PM me.
