Removing stereo to install an fm modulator...

Can someone please tell me how to remove the radio bezel to get to the back of the stereo so that I can install an FM modulator for my Sirius radio ? The Sportster rewind that I have installed has too much static and interference to enjoy it. I need to install a modulator. If you have pictures of how to remove the stereo I would appreciate it.

Thanks

I don't have pics but it is very easy to do. First, peel back the side stripping attached to the shifter bezel (on the side of the console next to your legs). it should peel away pretty easy. Then unscrew your shift knob and gently pry the whole shifter bezel out. Directly at the bottom of the silver part of the radio bezel, there is a spot to put a flat head screwdriver in. You won't have much space to get it in there between the radio bezel, and the gear shifter itself. Once you get the flat head positioned, pull back towards you and it should come out. Then you'll have to pull the top of the radio bezel towards you as well, and it should come right out.

Does anybody has some pics to see this step by step, I also want to install my Audio Link iPod Interface, It finally arrived yesterday.

Thanks for the help... I chickened out on doing it myself. I went to Best Buy and had them put it in. Thanks again...

I don't blame you. it was pretty scary tearing into a brand new car. I had the help and resources of a friend (a Mazda dealership technician) and we were brave enough to tackle it. Now I'm a little more confident.

Did you sucessfully use the audiolink to install your sportster?? I have XM (an ACC sports fan), and am using the built in fm stations, too much static. Did it improve the sound, how hard was it to install and where did you get it. Thanks

can you use the xm/ sirius and the ipod moduler? i heard you can't use both. Is this true? If you don't mind me asking what did best buy charge to do it?

I removed the Head Unit bezel a couple weeks ago to install a MP3 integration kit and it was pretty easy if you have patience and are very careful. One word of caution if anyone is thinking of removal the HU bezel - use a plastic putty knife instead of the screw driver w/mask tape. Also start the bezel pop process from the side instead of the bottom. Here are a couple links that should help:

Best bet for removing console bezel is to use plastic putty knife at CURVE at bottom of bezel where sides turn into bottom. This allows you to pop out the bottom part first and work your way up.
