Are they pretty much burned in there, or is there a way that i can clean them off...i know that they are permanantly changed colors, but can you clean them off? i tried water and rubbing alcohol so far, no luck.

What do you mean, the oils from your fingers burned on and chanegd the color of the headers? Also whats the finish on your headers?

chrome headers...no chrome always changes to a rainbow color...im saying you can see some fingerprints and smudges in my headers...wont seem to come out

I don't know much about it but if its anything like when i get bugs on my hood, you can just wax em out :D but then again what do i know... have you tried buffing or polishing them?

just with what i said above...i dont know how abbrasive i can go on these headers without ******* the finish up

i would have thought the alcohal would ahve worked,,,,only other thign I can think of is standard chrome polish.

Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish will work. Took the fingerprints off my Injen easily (and they were baked-on blood from cutting my finget putting it on).

ive got this kickass metal polish, it has amonia (sp?) in it this shiot is the bomb, i picked it up at autozone, its blue and in a little plastic can. Thats what i would try, i use it on my intake and exhaust and they shine better than new.

nope cheap, and its called blue magic, metal polish cream and heres a pic of what it looks like. lemme upload it

Its going to be pretty tough if the fingerprints were from where it was installed and then heated up before it was cleaned really well. That happens on motorcycle exhausts all the time. If I get a chance I'll ask the guys down at the motorcycle shop if they have something foolproof.

ok heres the pics, im tellin ya this s*** works wonders. I swear by it on any polished or chrome shiot.

Razor....try going to the nearest harley shop .... tell them you want something to clean up the blue on your headers....they will be able to hook you up.....if you don't have a harley dealer near you look around for some other motorcycle shop...

you can try shopping online at www.jpcycles.com too.

something else you may try before spending any real money is

0000 steelwool....yep that is right steelwool....the 0000 is so fine it will NOT scratch your chrome....I use it all the time to remove small blemishes off of chrome on my bikes.....its great for getting stuff off that is burnt on.
