Removing Badges

2011 Mazda2
I have a 2011 US Sport model and I'd like to remove the rear badges to plasti-dip them and put them back on...I see that the Mazda logo and the flying M both have pins through them, so would I just use a hair dryer/heatgun to loosen them up and yank them out? Will they pop right back in with no hassle? Just want to make double sure before I do anything :)

I plasti dipped mine with them still on the car, and when I got tired of it it only took a few minutes to peel it off and it all came off cleanly. It might be eaiser to just leave them on.

Hm, yeah. I've heard it will come off of the paint if you just spray over them while they're on the car...but I've also heard other people say that sometimes it won't peel off and I'd rather not risk it.

It'll peel off the paint. Only time I've ever heard of someone having trouble peeling plastidip was when it has been left on for awhile. The 2 hours or so between spraying and peeling shouldn't be long enough for it to "grab" onto the paint.

itll come off if you spray like 3 or 4 layers. 1 or 2 and its too thin to peel and youll have to scrap it off.

not sure about to 2 but with older mazda models there are little round white plastic clips that hold onto the pin inside the trunk, if you just pull them off you may off to glue them back on after

The emblems are glued on the holes and mounting studs are for support. Use hot air and fishing line. Makes it super easy.

Thanks, I sprayed it directly on the car and it peeled off the paint with no problems...I'll keep that in mind if I want to debadge it though :)
