Removed the intake resonator

LOL, just go argue with all the people who done it with their Mazda3, I've done it and i see that the engine respond quicker on low RPM, and I do more KM/Litres. You should see how big is the Intake resonator on a Mazda5 (bigger than the Mazda3) and you will understand imediatly !

Sorry... I wasn't trying to argue or anything. Personally, I think I'll just wait until someone can show me a dyno chart with a proven increase. :)

Actually when talking about airboxes, the bigger the better...in most cases.

Maybe but in this case the resonator restrict the air from comming in the motor, if you remove the resonator the air come more freely.

But isn't it when you take out the resonator, you will disable the variable length air duct (VLAD) system blah blah. I think this is what I hear if you start the engine in the morning, I hear the flappers activating. This gives more torque when accelerating when engine is cold.

Note that all of these devices are for noise reduction, rather than intake volumetric efficiency tuning. So if any of the volumes is likely to be causing a restriction to intake airflow (and that’s especially the case with a series expansion chamber), you can delete it without too much concern.

Do you like the sound so far ?

I love the sound...its just automatic. All my other cars with intakes were stick......and I cant use the manumatic for beans... The first couple of days I would try to use the manumatic to hear it and when I looked I was going 80mph on 25mph streets....So I try not to bury the right foot anymore......BTW why didn't someone show me the pringles intake before?....I got a crap load of those in the cupboards.(silly)
