Keep them.
I actually agree with Mathew, REMillers hit the nail on the head, and so did 2k3 Mazdaspeed.
Like it or not, a lot of people do use them as a way of judging someone else's experience or credibility. No, just because someone has 5000 post in 3 months does not make them trustworthy, then again, if they have made 5000 posts, then you certainly should be able to read some of them to judge their personallity for yourself. However, if some new person comes in, and says something completely off the wall .... say advice for modding, new tuning tricks or whatever.....given that it's their 1st post, I tend to be cautious. We are a growing forum, and it's hard to read everything from everyone like it used to be. It's nice to have some useful info like post counts.
Someone with 6000 post in 6 months can also be taken in a negative way too remember, and can reflect their personallity in a damaging way just as much as a good way. Again, it's a source of info that more helpful then damaging.
The post count aren't hurting anyone. You going to have post ****** anyways, this isn't going to stop. I've dealt with these things before with other forums, and getting rid of post counts didn't do a thing.
A rating system is garbage. There's no way to do it fairly, and your rating is judged by what? How a mod rates you? or how many people take the time to actually vote for you....it's not fair, it becomes a popularity contest, and we might as well vote for the site King and queen while were at it like this is a prom or something.
The seller rating is not a bad idea.....but it's an idea that only works for .... selling things. I have never sold anything on this forum, and I am one of the 1st bunch of people to sign up here.....so where does that leave people like me?
Leave them. Get rid of them in the messages if you like and make it available in the user info section, but don't get rid of them entirely please.
pretty please.
