Reflash being done and etc :

Just dropped my CX-7 off to have a few things looked at. The Mazda6 rental they gave me sure doesn't compare to the CX-7.

Getting Homelink mirror installed (mine just had Autodim/compass) but in most conversations was told it had Homelink. So they agreed to order it/install it for $250. Ask them to reflash (complained of lack of power under 2000rpm) and then produced the TSB. Of course they asked if I just read the TSB .......or do I really have a problem. Then asked them to look at the door seals.....and produced TSB. So we'll see how long this takes and if they address everything.

It's funny they don't want to reflash. Why wouldn't they want to provide the best map for the ecu? It barely takes any time too. I know when I was trying to take a left in front of oncoming traffic I was wishing my cx7 was flashed. Went from wait.. wait.. to peeling out across the intersection when the boost came on.

Honestly the difference wasn't as noticable as the comments here make of it. It just smooths things out a little. It still a turbo either way. :)

Although my experiance is not a good benchmark as I only had our 7 for a week and then had it flashed when it was in for a brake shimmy.

Just had the reflash done today - MAJOR difference for me.
I drive 'fairly' conservatively and felt the difference from the time I pulled into the street at the dealership. Love it ! Smooth ride !
I have a slight gap on the passenger side door but they said they could not do anything about it ! I am not getting dirt inside the door so I will let it go for now.

Had the flash done last week after finding out about it on this fantastic site, was lurking for abit and decided to register. still havin problems with my ride spoke to my service manager todayhe said that there may be a seperate adjustment for the tranny gonna have it looked at next week

Had the re-flash done last week, helps out quite a bit. I think the re-flash adjusts the shift points in relation to the throttle position and allows the transmission to drop down two gears when you stomp on the gas.
It seem to go from 6th down to 4th now when you mash the gas. Allowing the RPM to come up faster and the Turbo to spool up.
Just my impression as it is my wifes ride and I don't drive it that much. But she is happy and that's what counts.
By the way, I just got a new air filter for her CX-7 at Car Quest for $8.78 with tax, their on sale.

Haven't really posted because still dealing with service department. Not 100% satisfied yet. When I got my CX-7 it had 691 miles on it ( they drove it from about 200 miles away) as it was the only Electric Blue for miles that had most of the options I wanted. I was told it had Homelink (turns out it didn't) and it didn't have splash guards (they installed those for free as part of the deal). Airbag cover had a scratch on it. The cover where the shifter is had a scratch on it. Told them I wanted them fixed since I leased a "new" vehicle, I want it in that condition. Since it was a lease I didn't care about previous mileage since I won't be keeping the car (99% sure). Dropped the car off on a Tuesday and didn't pick it up until the following Monday. Was in a Mazda6 rental....that sure did suck.

Homelink mirror installed. This is why I orginally brought it in. They left the drivers side pillar not completely installed after removing it. There was a 1/2 gap between the weatherstripping and the pillar cover. Took it back (don't know how I didn't see it when I picked it up) and they "fixed it" but now the pillar cover has some grease on it. That will be fixed soon (keep reading).

Reflash done.......yes you can tell a difference. Just like everyone says much more "smoother" acceleration than before. I couldn't find any evidence of a sticker under the hood or on the door jam stating they reflashed the ECU. Paperwork given to me stated they performed the TSB. As far as mileage goes no idea if its changed, since the battery was disconnected for the mirror install I lost my milage (forgot to write down). Plus I have only gone through 1 tank of gas.

Radio Bezel - right corner was popped out for some reason? (fixed)

Told them the front door was noisy - replaced door checker. I thought I told them the passenger side bother me too but nothing noted on paperwork.

They told me door seals are fine (even though my vin falls under TSB). I will investigae the seals further

Replaced airbag cover (actually the whole airbag) but left a new scratch on the steering wheel. Now they are ordering a new steering wheel (not a little scratch...talking 3" long) They have to order it so thats when they will be fixing the pillar cover.

Replaced the cover on shifter.

At his point I should have just installed the Homelink Mirror myself. But I wanted it done by them so if any issues arise down the rode I can always fall back on it was installed at the dealership.
