Wow, what a difference.

Those little bushings really do add a degree of feel to the stock shift linkage assembly and the redline gear oil swap is worth the price but beware. In order to swap the oil you need a 23mm socket and a 24mm wrench to get the damn plugs off!!!! You will never miss a shift again and in the cold it is like the tranny is already hot. This is a must for any track time junkie.

Redline is some good stuff, i did put RP in mine at first but i thought it was worse than stock, then changed to RL and its been smooth as silk since.

I was thinking about changing to Mobil1 M90..Bad idea?
In my opinion, Redline is far superior to M1. If it's cost you are thinking about, you need only 3 quarts and will probably never change it again.

I would easily recommend redline, talk to anyone that has swapped for another synthetic and then changed to redline. Also if you are going racing or driving hard, it is recommended that you change this fluid every 30k miles. MT-90 was specially designed for Mazda to make the synchros bond with the oil at the molecular level and you WILL be able to feel this difference when after swapping from the stock oil.

I'm going to have to do the tranny oil swap soon. I'm still waiting for the TWM SS before going ahead w/ the shifter bushings.

Does anyone know who else (brick and mortar) besides the Mazda dealer sells the Redline MT-90?

I got mine from Summit Racing. I know it's not brick&mortar, but it is well established. Around here, there a few smaller places that stock it, but not the chains.

24mm wrench and 23mm socket? Geesh, something else to by! Im assuming it has a drain port below the fill port? I gotta get a pump to unless you were able to fill it without one?

23 and 24? I only used a 23. drain plug is towards the firewall, fill plug is toards the front of the car a little higher up. I dont know why u needed a 23 and a 24, its the same size plug. Heres a little tip if u want all the old fluid out. Blow hard into the fill plug while the drain plug is out, youll be surprised how much more oil comes out. Also make sure the car is level when u are filling it, aka jack up both front and rear, otherwise you will over fill the tranny.

Thx Rotus and Cash. In case anyone else lives in Washington State, I found two places in the Puget Sound area for MT-90. Carquest Auto Parts (253) 848-1591 in Puyallup, WA and Pinnacle Mazda (425) 271-2700 in Renton, WA.
