red sidemarkers

Instead of blacking them out has anyone painted them red? Would like them to match my true red. Is there special paint for it like nite shade or do i just use regular spray paint?

i dont think you can have red sidemarkers. only red lights allowed on a car are teh tail lamps and sometimes rear reflectors.

thats for sure. amber on the side markers to match your parking lamps and blinkers. changing the factory colors of your lights is asking for immediate trouble from your loacl popo. the amber color sites the side of the vehicle.

The purpose of this standard is to reduce traffic accidents and deaths and injuries resulting from traffic accidents, by providing adequate illumination of the roadway, and by enhancing the conspicuity of motor vehicles on the public roads so that their presence is perceived and their signals understood, both in daylight and in darkness or other conditions of reduced visibility

as i read through the side markers are really only required in a vehicle in a certain amount of ft. long such as tractor trailer trucks. they are to be a specific color on any vehicle using them. sorry.

thats right.. im blacking out my side markers for a show but i have two sets so ill switch them out before i ride home..i would definetly get pulled over at some point..u could do it just for show but grab a second set for when ur driving around normaly.

You won't need a second set it you are only going to black them out because the amber will still shine through when lit up.

i used jdm red out spray. jst do an ebay search.

u can also get some red tint spray at a hobbie store that can work jst as good.
