Mufflex in Trenton, NJ built the system. They do fantastic work -- granted, most of it is on muscle cars, but I was waiting in the shop when they got a call to do a turbo-back on a WRX .. so they're anything but unfamiliar with the import scene. And I'd rather not discuss the price. I paid what I paid -- my happiness is all that really matters.livelyjay said:Who built it? How much was the total cost?
I can't really give a fair judgement about power increase with JUST the manifold, since I got the manifold AND the entire exhaust all done at the same time. But with everything combined -- my God, it's SO much better. Quicker response, more even response through the RPMs, and the car no longer 'bucks' and 'freezes' (I don't know what other words to use, LOL) between hard shifts. I'll still get a stutter now and then -- but by now, I'm quite convinced that even that will go away when I get my WRX injectors and Unichip installed and tuned. And the manifold cost .. I think it was $350 from Thunder, through Protephile. Take a peek in the MSP Marketplace section for a bigfat thread on it.daedalus said:Hows the spool/power increase with the new manifold? I've been out for a bit, but how much does the mani cost?
I have the MAM FMIC setup .. though it was slightly modified. Kooldino and I basically chopped off some of the SRI length to make it nice and short -- and then just popped a filter on the end!1moreMPH said:hawt. serious congratulations, that looks well-built. and i was just noticing at how...unique...your piping is under the hood. Im very curious. the piping is very direct, what fmic core do you have? i feel like with that piping route it would give minimal lag.
I very highly doubt it. Unless something snaps or starts threatening to fall off .. I'm completely done with the exhaust.Matrix said:I noticed you have the stock exhaust hangers. Will you be switching to Kartboys in the future? Just curious...
Nope, not yet .. That's the last thing on the list. '05 WRX 440 cc injectors and the Unichip, which I'm going to have fully tuned at a shop that's about an hour and a half away. I can't wait, I'm SO sick of hitting the 'power wall' around 5000 RPMs!daedalus said:you must not be running any ems as of yet then?

I didn't even think people would be that interested in the muffler .. but if I have a couple minutes tomorrow, I'll do my best to crawl under the back of the car to get some shots!sandspeed said:wow the exhaust looks really clean and the thunder manifold looks great! Post some pics of the muffler when you get a chance![]()
