Does anyone know how much lateral movement the rear sway bar is supposed to have? 1"? 4"?
Are the small stops really supposed to stop the bar from moving?

Those locking rings should be very close to the inside edges of the stock bushings. Less then 1/8 inch movement in total on my car. If you have anything more you might end up with some handling changes during cornering.
Those locks should stop the bar. If they don't on yours try tightening the bands.
With my clunk fix bracket you will definately want to keep the movement down to less then 1/8 inch. The brackets hold the new bushings as far out as possible. Any extreme lateral movement will cause some serious stress on the new bushings and possibly break them, or worse, the end links.
Removed existing bands because I had to relocate the bushings (Delsing prototype kit put on there 10kmiles ago). For the first 5kmiles I ran without relocating the bushings and got a little lateral movement (maybe 1/4"). With the GSHC's relocated and tightened they haven't moved at all, but then again the Delsing kit puts the bushings where they should be - much nearer the bend - so there's less room to move.
You can sort of see it in the attached, as well as my sometimes-on, sometimes-slightly-too-loud-for-me HSM straight pipe.
