Ok, so when I bought my car It came with an upgraded Kenwood Headunit. Now the other day for some weird reason I decided to check if my speakers were working. I found out my rear speakers weren't working. Does the signal for these speakers come from the headunit or do they come off the stock amp or something?

check the connections on the rear speakers them selfs if you have any and check the back of the deck to see if they are hooked up their as well your rear speakers could be blown if you are still having trouble also make sure that both wires and connected right in behind the deck as well if you cant find any thing wrong get a buddy to help and then hit up a stereo shop not best buy.

?? I defently have a MSP and I defently have 2 Kenwood Rear Deck Speakers. But anyway I'll have to pull my headunit I guess but I dont have keys for it so Ima have to go buy them.

do you have the stock sub also? Msp came. With 4 door speakers 2 tweeters and a sub all kenwood, including tbe head unit. You can't run the rear deck speakers and the stock sub. It wasn't long ago when I was here asking why my rear deck speakers weren't working.

Edit: we have the enclosure for rear speakers, but the stock sub enclosure location doesn't allow the installation of rear deck speakers.

Really? Yeah I have the stock Sub in my car. So your sayin that that there is a space for them there but there isnt even speakers there??

Regular Protege sedans have 6x9 speakers in the rear deck, P5s, MP3s and MSPs have the rear speakers in the bottom of the back doors, I believe it's for better sound quality/acoustics. And all the components of the stereo except the front tweeters are Kenwood Excelon, 6x8" front door speakers, 6.5' round rear door speakers, an 8" sub and 250watt amp.

The sad thing is there is a thread that explains ALL of that but whatever, I guess I have plenty of time to kill.

srry but im new to the site, i havn't quite figured out how to search specific things in certain categories. Now I pulled the sub/amp setup off today because I set up my own system and it was just taking up room. But anyway I saw there were wires going into those spots..What are they for?

The extra wires are for cost savings. It is cheaper to wire up every car using one harness instead of making multiple styles of wire harnesses. I never did get around to testing those wires to see if they got any signal/power, but I would bet someone else must have by now.

And the two threads you are looking for are "stickies" in the "MSP Car Audio & Electronics" section. They are the first and third threads in that list.
