Rear seat fan ? in my '09

ok. I've had my 5 for almost a month now - AND LOVE IT!! I have a question for anyone that can help (which is prob everyone on this section). Should the rear seat fan also throw heated air if the heat is on in the front? Mine is giving AC cooled air, but I can't get the heated air to run through it. It will just blow cool air.
I still have warranty left, so if it needs to be warm back there too, I need to have it looked at.

The rear AC vent is for AC only. In heating mode turn those off as hot air will come from under the front seats out back.

sorry can u explain the hot air from under the front seats? You're not referring to the driver passing gas are you? Or are thereseperate vents?

There are floor vents that exit from under the front 2 seats, to blow air on the feet of the 2nd row passengers.

Isn't it funny how many people, including me, have been puzzled by the way the rear vents work? You'd think Mazda would have at least one person who sees how many people talk about it and change a few words in the manual.

From my '09 owner's manual, page 6-17:

NOTE
Only cool or cold air (no heat) flows through the rear vents while the front climate control is on. Heat for the rear passengers comes from under the front seats when the front heater is on and set to floor mode.

When pressing the rear ventilation control switch on the front control panel (with climate control system on), the rear ventilation system operates at low speed only. To change to high speed, press the HI rear vent button.

If you look very closely, it says cool air only or something like that on top of the vents. I was a little confused too until I read it in the manual and then saw the message.

Speaking of the manual, I like how they recommend that you remove your antenna every time you park your car.

Note
When leaving your vehicle unattended, we recommend that you remove the antenna and store it inside the vehicle.

You're right. But, to me, cool air can be air even in the middle of summer that can't be routed past the heater coil. I think it should say cooled air if it means A/C. I just think the wording is low grade and should be revised.
