Rear passenger door not locking

Hi there, I have a problem with my newly purchased 2008 cx9 GT. After locking the doors with the key fob smart key, the rear driver's side passenger door doesn't lock! I tried locking the car with the door button...still not locked. I tried pushing the lock button on the drivers door...nothing. So I think there is something wrong with the locking mechanism for this rear drivers side door. Has anyone encountered something similar? I am curious, please reply. (No luck with searching the forums, by the way.)

Something tells me that one of two things has happened. Either the cable that controls the door locking mechanism has come out if its retaining slot, or the cable has actually sheered. You can take it to a dealer, or get adventurous and pull the door panel off yourself and look. Pulling door panels off is really not that hard to do, and in fact the last two times I have on the 9, none of the fasteners broke which is normal for many other makes.

I have a newly purchased (New Years week) 2008 cx9 GT, and had the same problem. Same door as well. I took it in to the dealership on Wed. and they fixed it. It turned out to be the cable had come out of its "slot" and was easy to fix. I hope yours is as easy of a fix as mine was. Good luck.

Well, could also be the actuator failed, therefore, no locking action.
Can you hear any sound coming out of the door that fails to lock?
If not, either the cable is off or the actuator went bad.
