so i went to mazda the other day for a couple concerns.. such as the rear motor mount was drenched in oil and i saw a stream of oil running down my down pipe. so when i spoke with the tech he told me that the rear motor mount was leaking oil and he is going to order me a new one. i said "the rear motor mount contains oil?" he said "well, its like a gell" so i told him it was motor oil and not a gell substance. he told it was the same... anybody have any thoughts about this bc i think its bs to the fullest.

the rear motor mount contains no fluid, period

lol i would not even go back to that dealership if the tech there told me that. Can't trust anybody with your car nowadays.

It seems like these techs are trained to feed people a line of BS no matter what the problem. If I was you I would look the car over myself or take it to someone who knows what they are looking at and see where the oil is really coming from so when you go back there you can tell them whats up.

i would bet a line going to the turbo, either supply or return, is leaking. something that requires attention for sure.

"leaky motor mount"

better have that tech check the blinker fluid while he is out there

I had a tech tell me one time that my oil pump was seeping oil THROUGH the METAL housing.....

OMG do not return to that dealer ! did they top off your HORN FLUID while you were there too ??

it's possible.these newer cars do have a viscous fluid in then.i have changed a few(not on a 3)but in a chrystler mini van,gm had a few modles with this problem.but if it's oil, just check your dipstick, regularly.the motor mount only has so much fluid in it.if it leaks out,you shouldn't be seeing any puddles.but it could be an oil leak too

lol well i am not going back to that dealership. i found another one not to far from where i live. i told my roommate that story and he hung up the phone bc he was laughing too hard to talk lol it made me want to kill the tech.

Yes, there are motor mounts that have a gel like fluid in them. Tell me you've never heard of this? My first car, a 1990 Nissan 240SX, had fluid filled mounts. I know this because I had to change one because it dry rotted and the fluid was leaking. So it is not impossible for a motor mount to be leaking, although it is in the Speed3 because it doesn't have fluid filled mounts.

You can tell that dealer and the tech for me they're idiots -- the tech, just 'cause he's an idiot and the dealer 'cause he hired the idiot.
