2017~2025: CX-5 Rear Liftgate Rattle

I have this rattle on each side of my trunk hatch right above the taillights that rattles when the car idles and drives me crazy. Anyone have this and if so what was the solution?

That's a plastic trim that can be removed. Probably is missing some clips. If you have some plastic tool, you could try to gently remove it and you'll see how it's mounted and see if there are any clips missing. I've done some work on my car and had to remove this trim. There is a lot of dust and/or fine dirt accumulating under. A good opportunity for you to clean that area. Did you replace the back window recently? The trim must come off when they replace the back window and maybe the trim was not reinstalled properly.

I haven’t done any work on that back window or liftgate. The rattle started right after I bought the car and slowly is getting worse. It used to just be one side right above the taillight but now it’s on both sides. I was imaging some nut/bolt came loose but it looks like a bunch of plastic clips. Not sure I want to dismantle it without a clear solution. I think I’ll just try shoving some foam up there or something. Thanks for the info!
