Thats a lovely display of the internals(scratch) ,looks complicated ,my question is when I bleed the brakes does the fluid just push the piston out to the pads or is there some other kind of adjustment that is required ,if anyone can give me the link to the manual for the brakes that would be great (that piston needs some serious sanding to get the rust of which is caused by not servicing the brakes ,(oil with moisture)Thanks PCB

well haven't been able to make much headway ,have one brake plugged ,threaded the other one just need a 9x 1.25 bolt to fill the hole so have to find a bolt , but its an odd size so have to find a place that sells it .Home hardware doesn't carry it.Maybe home depot. { PS} Thanks pcb for the above picture of brake down of the brakes

This post has a link to the entire FSM...

https://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123858357-Links-to-PDF-manuals-(2002-2003)

The internals of the brake caliper aren't covered in the service manual.
I stole that picture from the forum years ago.

My guess is that if you take your rear calipers apart, you will have bits and pieces flying everywhere with no idea how to get it back together...

I'd suggest taking pictures and being very slow and careful if you take them apart.

EDIT... I found this...
(but there's more parts in the picture than the diagram shows ??...)
