Really? No media with sirius?

Just got a 2007. I can't believe the sirius and the ipod jack are mutually exclusive! So the standard issue radio with four options is 50% useless, if I don't order a satellite radio subscription? Is there any way to hook up the media jack without spending $140?

You can install a switch box (or have someone do it) to handle both inputs.
A switch box, essentially, sends the one that has active signal over to the head unit.
For the newer model (2009+), the switch box was built in.
Here is an example of a switch box for '07 and '08 models:

Installation won't be cheap if you have the dealer do it.
You can find a PDF instruction on this site if you are into DIY.

Just bought a 2008 CX-9 and notice the Media (auxilary jack) does not work. I assume it is because the previous owner did have Sirius. It does come up and I know from the records he had it installed. I do not plan to use Sirius but do want to plug my ipod into the auxilary jack.

Any recommendations on how to switch it back without paying $100's to the dealer? Other posts seemed to imply you could unplug the sirius and plug back in the media/auxilary jack.

It does seem ridiculous that is should be an either/or.
