Real quick question about lugs / if this rim will fit

I want to get Exel TZ-7s for my '99 Protege LX. It is 17x7 and includes[font=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica] 205/40/17 [/font]tires. What I don't understand is that it says "4 lug only"... sorry if I sound dumb, but what does this mean? I just need to know if these will fit so I can go ahead and order. Thanks.

Its pretty simple.....how many lugs/studs does your car have? since I don't know what you drive....if you have FOUR lugs/studs which hold your wheels on...then they MIGHT fit....depends on the offset of the wheel you are wanting to buy...if you have a P5 or an MP3 or an MSP or the ES which all have FIVE lugs/studs which hold the wheels on you are out of luck....since it appears that the wheels are only offered in FOUR LUG ONLY.

he has an LX, and thus a 4 x 100mm bolt pattern

but we need to know the offset to know if they will fit

I called WheelMax and they said that the offset is "42," whatever that means. I asked the guy if they'd fit on a car w/ 4x100 and he said "Yes, definitely," but I want the A-ok from my Mazda bros. Yes?
