Hi everybody, new here, glad to find this forum! tons of cool info.

not sure exactly where to place this question so i'll try here.

I have one problem with my new (3000 miles) ms3 - the passenger door buzzes and rattles between 35-55 mph.
its pretty obnoxious. I did take it back to the dealer for it, and they confirmed door was slightly out of alignment, reset it, but if anything, noise it worse. Before i go back again (and they make it worse still), is there anything i can try? I did wipe down inner and outer gaskets with silicon, no help there..

Sounds like they are going to need to pull tha pannel and see whats loose.

My door sort of creeks when I go up a drive way entrance side ways to prevent scraping but as stiff as this car is I sort of expect that.

yeah if you have a rattle like that i would keep at it... i had one in my passenger door on my 04 and only tried to have them fix it once and said f-it after that b/c they forgot to tighten the hinge after they removed the door causing more damage and noise... so keep at it its prob just something loose as some one said... annoying porblems like this are why you have a warranty take advantage of it.. i am only 4k away from not having one anymore...

EDIT!!!!***!!!! just saw your location... WORCESTER!! the armpit of newengland!! lol how you like it there... check out the nepoc section and the southern/northern new england regional forums for local meets/dynos/random get togethers and stuff... good fun

oh yeah, worcester... i'm actually next town over, shrewsbury, which is ok but worcester is really going to the dogs..

I'm not sure i want the guys at wellsley mazda taking my door apart. I'd rather do it myself.. does anybody know how the interior door skim comes off? i don't want to crack it like i did on one of my other cars....

Why Wellesely? Try Sentry in Shrewsbury

Have you ever gone to Sentry West (across from the Christmas Tree Shop on RT9)? I've gone there since they opened and have nothing but great things to say about their service department. Jim, Dick, Kevin, Bob, Brian, Darius and Omar are all first class. My wife's 5 is there for service as we speak. They have fixed EVERY squeak, rattle and annoying bug that I've ever found in my 3 and 5. They also never give me hard time.

I also just ordered an 08 MS3.

Try them, I know they'll do right by you.

Antonio, thanks for the recommendation! only time i've been to sentry was to look at a speed3, and they had one but wouldn't let it out for a test drive. I found wellsley mazda had a couple, went down there and drove it and bought it.

I wonder if sentry would work with me on this rattle. I also wonder if i should mention that i would have bought from them except for the no test drive policy.. I mean, i know you don't want joy riders taking these cars out but who buys without driving? the salesguy could have come along.
but at wellsely they threw me the keys, the car only had 2 miles on it....25 when i got back!

loving it tho, sweet ride.

Yeah they're pretty strict about rides

Depends on the salesman. Maybe you got them on a bad day. How long ago did you test drive. I was able to test drive the first red one they got on the lot a year ago, but I they know me from the past five years. I bought two cars and have them do ALL my services.

The service department is a separate bunsiness unit, so they won't say no to servicing your car. The key is loyalty. I've been a loyal customer for years and they usually bend over backwards for me. I think it's all about basic respect. I treat them well and they do the same. I never go in their with a chip on my shoulder. I may pay a bit more for service but I consider the extra money spent worth it for piece of mind.

Feel free to drop my name. They really are a good bunch of guys. Unless you catch them on an especially busy day. Jim manages the deaprtment and is a great guy. He just tells it the way it is.

OH, just be sure you call for an appointment...

I assume everyone calls for an appointment, but I reread my response and realized that I may have insinuated that you don't need an appointment.

For a rattle I would call them and figure on having it there for the day.

Their number is 508-845-7700
