I am a mod here and usaully don't get too involved. I move some threads from time to time, help new members find there way around when needed and answer questions asked of me, but for the most part we have great members here and they don't require alot of babysitting. I am proud to be a part of this community and can't think of anywhere else on the net I would want to be a member/mod.

All I have to say is thanks to Antoine and Enry for starting this fantastic board.

BTW...I will change my avatar to include Moderator in it so everyone can see who the mods are if thats what the members want.

Hmm...Will "Website Leader" work? I typed in Moderator and it posted "Website Leader". I guess that will work.

I am on about 10 different Forums, and this one is one of the best, keep up the good work.

Gosh I so want to vote forum nazi's but I only get one vote....

Seriously though, great mods, can't ask for any better!!

(p5red) (first)

I am also a mod, and I am so glad to have this opportunity. I know I am a new mod, but in the future, after I have more time and expirence with my duties and responsibilities, I would like to take on more for this forum.
Also I am more then willing to help the new members out.. and I have in the past and will continue to do so in the future. I think things are going well, and I only see great things to come.

It is also wonderful to be able to plan theese events that we have in So Cal, and organize all of it on the forums. I have met some very cool people through this club, and it really means alot to me to be here.

I just need to learn to keep some opinions to myself, and I am working on it. Before I was a mod, the others were doing a great job keeping things were they were suppose to be and helping the members out with anything they needed. So thanks to all the wonderful mods that came before me.

Mods here are good. I like the less=more attitude they exhibit when it comes to oversight. A job well done Lady and Gentlemen, IMHO.

I think the nws stuff needs to modded more. Things that are in the sig or avatar. Yeah I know it could be turned off, but its kind of wack that a few people ruin it for the rest of us. I think a lot of ppl who post at work would agree.

I agree with the summary of suggestions in 1st MP3's post.
This is a good place but, needs some heavier handed moderating, specifically in the MSP section.
I see stuff like this: http://www.msprotege.com/vbb230/showthread.php?s=&threadid=45021

.........all the time. These kinds of posts should just get deleted or moved to off-topic immediately.

I Agree...I may use this thread as an example when I make the MSP Forum Moderator Rules + Guidelines.

I get no respect :'(

Don't worry...I don't think anyone notices I'm one, even though it's in my title. :D

It depends where you hang out as to where you'll see me. My turf is the Rotary Car section.

Yanno, you have people on this board who have been around long enough to know what needs to be changed and what doesn't. Instead of having moderators that are in charge of multiple sections, why not have different moderators in their "home" section? It'd make a lot more sense.

For instance, when Matthew went in the MSP section, all hell broke loose. Granted, there were some underlying circumstances there also, but if you get someone that's mainly *in* the MSP section, it'll work quite a bit better than someone from the P5 section. And that works the opposite way.

Personally, I've tried telling enry, derrick, pdhaudio and Linux that I'd love to help. But it seems as though no one wants to change the current moderator setup. Yet the board continues to go in a negative direction. Enry even told me he'd mention me being a mod in the staff section and come to find out, that was never done.

Again, you have people that want this board to get back to how it was, you just have to let those people have a voice and pay attention to that voice. As Linux said, this is home.

I would have to agree with the above.

But the reason i stoped in is to say there are a few mods that get on my nervs a bit. I have never had a run in with one but just noticing latley they most are very smartassed. not what i am looking for in a moderator.

thanks :D

edit: not all, just some. :p

ill take that you mean me.

smartasses can be taken a ton of ways.

i take it that im doing the right thing since no one wants change and old members keep leaving.

mods dont really seem to do anything

they should be banning people who start flamewars, not just moving things to the flamewar section on a regular basis

Well banning someone should only be used in extreme circumstances...just because someone starts a flamewar or two is not grounds for banning IMO.

Mods are doing what they are supposed to do (moving threads to the proper forum, closing threads before they turn into flamewars, moving threads that have turned into flamewars into the flamewars forum), but I don't think there is enough of them to moderate the entire board. It's not that they aren't doing their job, it's that they can't without some additional help.

no pdh i wasn't referring to you. but thanks for letting me know you are a smart ass. i will keep this in mind in the future. i don't think i have seen you in the thread i read in quite a while. like i said not all are bad. some just make remarks that are better left unsaid yet they get away with it cause the moderate. as for moving and closing etc. the mods have been doing much better. the site is cleaner that when i first came around.

I voted "some are good a few are bad"....

SpicyMSP, Katsmsp, T3ase, and a few others are non-obtrusive....by this I mean they are not instigators or problem-causers. I spicy the most and she will often move or close a garbage thread. Kat has been the nicest to me even when I intentionaly try to be a jack-ass....that says somethign about her character as a person and a mod.

Linux & Kooldino are my least favorite mods...nothing personal but there seems to no clear line of what's acceptable and unacceptable for EVERYONE. no one set of rules for everyone. It seems those who are buddies get cut slack and jack-asses like me get flamed. Also, Linux seems to hate remarks I make about different races because they are offensive to him, but when someone badmouths and insults my religion or beliefs I'm told to hold my tongue. This goes back to one set of rules for everyone...I dunno what Dino's problem is, but he was always real cool before he was a mod. I miss the times we used to hold hands. What happened to the "milk and cookies" guy I fell in love with??
