Raspberry Pi to CX-5 Touchscreen Display?

:
2014 CX-5 Sport
I just got a 2014 CX-5 sport with the bluetooth package and touchscreen display. I don't have the NAV system, would it be possible to connect a Raspberry Pi to the touchscreen display via USB/hdmi/composite?

I assume you would need to install a driver for the display to whatever OS you have running on the Raspberry Pi.

It would be cool if you could either have Linux/Android on Raspberry pi going to the touchscreen display or use the Raspberry Pi as a replacement for the NAV unit and when you push the NAV button on the display it runs a custom NAV program running from the Rasperry Pi.

If I could link in my phone through the tomtom link I would dump it in a heartbeat - I realize it isn't a Pi, but the concept is the same.

Somebody did it...but not for mazda...trying to imitate the mimicsX2
Check my post titled "just a dream"

pull out the headunit to see what kind of inputs are on the back. id be surprised if there was anything really available but who knows. (and if so, how to switch to the input?)

id love it if there were HDMI, Id install a miracast dongle to mirror my phones screen to the display.

Youtube it, ikerg and I hvae been working on doing this. There is a russian guy who managed to push video to a stock screen, so it is possible just have to replace the TomTom system with something capable of doing it.

Any luck with mimicsx2 ?

Did you guys have any luck with getting the mimicsx2 work with the OEM touchscreen ? I know there are few videos about mimicsx2 in general, but would help hearing about your experience . Do any of you have the pictures of what the head unit looks from behind ? I mean the connectors that are available ?
