where do you see the guy complaining about blowing the motor? he said he blew and was rebuilding it, he said he did not think it would last this long

so he did nothing wrong, he is not here saying mazda sucks, they wont cover it under warranty

so I dont see why you guys are flaming him

Yeah i'm a little confused by your comments ghost and lara.... He isn't complaining at all. He knew it was gonna blow and really didn't care because it gave him a reason to go forged. Just like me, i've ran 12 or 13 psi daily for a long time now, and I knew something was gonna break, and it did. Oh well I know that i've gotta pay to play. I just wouldn't flame the guy when he's not even complaining in the least.

It doesnt matter if we did or didnt. He posted, we advised, and he blew. If you post stupid s***, youll get answers you wont like.

Its not about a new engine, insurance or anything else but stupidity. Both of the people you mention had at least what you needed to up the boost at the time they did.

So NOOB you go, read the forums information and stfu.

so your telling me that out of kickers list of mods he shouldnt have touched the boost? 15 psi obviously not, but once again it was his choice and he blew it. in reality, by pushing the stock engine and sharing his information, he is indeed helping the mazda community. when people start wars and flaming others is when this community goes to s***. kicker did not start this thread for a rsx owner to bash him.

and since im a noob and you are god's gift to the mazda protege forum, i will follow your divine advise and work really hard on reading the forums!!(thumb)

Its not about complaining. All of us saw the vid of the rx7 that was getting reved to death. 12 Hrs. untill the thing finally blew. What was everyones comments about it??? What an idiot!

Ok that what it is. Maybe the kid has goobles of cash and doesnt care. Good. But the information can be spread to new people to the tuning world. Then they will try the same s*** and BOOM! Now they have to get a new engine because of bad information.

Fine you choose your path when it comes to building a car. Fine that you mod it accordingly to what you want. But, if that tearing up the car, and coming on an informative forum to show off the he has boosted WAY over what he was supposed to and get away with it for a lil bit, is going to send that "it wont happen to me" additude to anyone that does not know.

That why he is getting flamed.

But thats where you are wrong. By him having the supporting mods that he does and blowing the engine with them, people will know that the stock engine cannot handle that amount of power in a certain period of time. if you were to come onto this forum and read that this guy has blown his engine becuase he cranked the boost up and kept his stock engine, would you seriously think to yourself, "Hmmm im gonna turn my boost up and get more power than this guy did." NO you wouldnt. This would be a thread that makes you uneasy and more conservative with your msp.

No, if you read how people really are in here. They will jump and cheer if any kind of advancement is done with the Protege platform. Weather its an MSP with stock internals running 12's, or if an electric supercharger will help get more HP. Its up to the veterans of the site to correct and catch this before it gets out.

It is his car though, he makes the payments on it, so if he doesn't care well thats his problem. And yeah i've had my turbo replaced under warranty. I just laid out 2 grand today to get my car back too, because I was playing around and it broke. Also i've beat on my car, but that doesn't mean I don't care about it. Look @ my car, I don't know of another msp with 50k miles that is close to as clean as mine, or doesn't have even 1 door ding. But since I beat on it I don't care about the car?? I'm confused.

Thats not the point. You dont come in here bragging on pushing you car to the limits. And when it breaks, you know why and you fix it. Thats the difference.

and he said he knew it was going to break over time, get over it and move on

ghost and laracroft...

im not trying to argue but your first posts were negative and arrogant and i shouldve left a part out of my post as well. But it all comes down to the owner's choices. he obviously pushed it too far, but he enjoyed it and is paying the price.

Also, since we are in the subject of an RSX owner telling an MSP dude anything.....

Lets say this guy was a Honda Civic owner. Lets say he was pushing a 100 shot of nitrus on his car with no engine management and stock internals. He was doing it just for the fun of going fast.
Now, he comes on here and posts this information. What would you guys say to him>????

Ill tell you what.

"Dude your a ricer trying to push nitrus like that on your car", then you would get the occasional "Dumbass Honda ricer" posts. Believe it guys, there have been people that have done it right here.

The Honda guy loves his car just like the rest of us.

If you cant take constructive critasizm*(sp) then you get over it and move on. Just leave the thread and let it be.

okay looks like i have some clearing up to do...

1. i do have fuel management. i have the DSM Convert's AFC which was dynotuned for the 14psi i ran the past year, and dynotuned for the 15psi on the gt28rs i ran for the past week.

2. I reason i elected to run 15psi on the GT28RS is b/c i only made 211whp at 11psi. 30whp less than i've been running the for the year before. So i gradually pushed the boost to 1 bar, eventually making 241whp. i've been running 243whp the past year, so i wasn't very worried about making 241whp.

so i blew the motor, why are some of you flaming me???

i knew blowing the motor was a possibility, but i had faith i took the necessary precautions to not blow. I had the supporting mods, i was dynotuned, so i had faith she would hold making 241whp. after all, she had no problem holding 243whp the past year.

i didn't go in trying to blow my motor, i went in trying to make some good power... if it didn't blow, great for me, great for the mazda community. I unfortuneately blew, sux for me but i'm not here bitchin so i dunno why some of you are bitchin at me.

i'm not some noob who slapped on a mbc on his car and cranked his boost to 20psi. i knew what i was getting into so please spare me the lecture.

yes but that honda owner would be a complete moron meaning he wouldnt think of the consequences. Kicker on the other hand has said from day one that he knows it shouldnt and wont last but he was willing to push it. there is a difference.

Why because he was a Honda owner. So what your saying is that doing it to a car that costs twice as much is better???? Also, did you know that the Honda guy had a crate engine ready to be installed, and knew he was going to blow it up??? See thats exactly the same.

Lack of information creates conclusions.

how thick are you!? i didnt say he was dumb becuase he was a honda owner. i said he was dumb becuase he sprayed on stock internals and stock ems.

okay i was gonna get a built block anyways, so only thing i'm losing right now is about a 3-400 dollar corecharge.

$400 was a risk i was willing to take, if it meant i could put off spending 5k for lil longer.

also i blew at 12psi, which is in the 220whp range.

Whats the difference here then. How thick are you. Boost is boost. Wether Supercharged, turbo, or nitrus. Its all a power addative, and the engine need to be prepared.

Come On !!!! Holy s***, guy blew his motor props to kicker now he can go forged and beat his speed ewen more. That is what I am going to do when my blows. Hallleeer Keep It In The RED And Keep It On The ROAD... Good luck with your speed Kicker...
