I have that same surge and my car pulls to the left. But I just got the new mani a few days ago with the vtcs removed. Got to put it in and get retuned.:) Wait I should get it P&P before hand. Anyone know about a good shop in South florida.

yeah, torque steer is a b****

Take a laptop, and run at least a mix of 100+ fuel. Just remember that the higher octane gas will make it run a tiny bit leaner (half point or so), so you will probably want to add some fuel up top and/or pull some extra timing. If she holds, 260+ is probably a pretty good bet.

Good luck.

thanks for the encouraging words...

i don't have access to 100+ octane fuel. highest i can get is 94 octane from sunoco.

the last time i ran 13psi i was running a 11.8-12.8 afr, i'm gonna richen that up to 11-11.5 afr and richen it up to 10.0-10.5 up top towards redline. i don't having any timing control w/ the dsmAFC, i've been counting on the stock knock sensor to pull timing.

scheduled a dyno for wednesday at a local shop, Philly Dyno Works... 4 runs for $65 bux w/ afr.

they use a dynojet so i won't get a good comparison w/ my old setup but oh well.

Actually you'll be surprised as to how close they are. The software compensates.

Hmm, I would ask around at your local speed shops about the fuel... I find it hard to believe that nobody has it there. There is only one place that carries it here, and I didn't know about it until semi-recently.

Be careful going so high with no timing control. I hope you are not flashed, haha. What is your elevation there?

I hope the dyno goes well and you won't end up blowing your engine...

I'll watch closely this thread for updates about the dyno #s.

that turbo is rated at 350, how come you would put down so little at 13psi?

the numbers garrett rate w/ aren't whp number. besides 13psi is absolutely nothing on this turbo. the sweet spot is 12-22psi so theres plenty left for this turbo to crank out well over 350whp. its jus a matter of how much my motor can take.

What about the LSD how much presure can i handle?

The MSP isn't really a car that breaks at specific numbers. It just breaks when it feels like it. That goes for the LSD's and motors. Although pushing over 260 with or without engine management on a stock bottom end is just a ticking timebomb. BTW good luck with your dyno.

The LSD can handle HP, its the torque you have to worry about. But in general, the LSD's that have broken have done so at different miles on the car, at different speeds and with different mods (some even stock). Some said that they were only going 40 mph in 3rd gear, others after taking off from a full stop, some on the highway and say it just "gave out". So its hard to say unfortunetly. But obviously, the more miles and mods on the car, the more likely that it will eventually break. But with more mods, hp and tq, I'd worry more about shooting a stock piston and rod out the block then anything else.

okay got back from they dyno... i got some good news and bad news...

first the good, i ran the car on the dyno for an hours and got damn near perfect afr running now. i ran 15psi (1.02 bar) twice, and 14psi 3 times, and the motor didn't pop.

the bad news is i only made 240.89whp and 224.48tq =(

i'm very disappointed w/ the numbers but i think part of it can be attributed to the crack in my manifold =T

i'll get a copy of the printout shortly.

240.89whp and 224.48tq with a cracked mainfold?? woah, fix that mainfold and go back on the dyno!

sorry still waiting on them to email me the dynos charts... i only have a hard copy of the final run...

this is how they looked tho if i remember correctly

1st run 12psi - 211whp - off the chart rich
2nd run 13psi - 227whp - off the cart rich
3rd run 14psi - 217whp - off the chart rich
4th run 14psi - 222whp - off the chart rich
5th run 14psi - 250whp - way too lean running 13s up top
6th run 15psi - 245whp - still too lean up top
7th run 15psi - 240whp - running jus right.

took the car to CustomMSP's today to check out what might be wrong w/ the car. ran a compression test...

he discovered cylinder 3 has very low compression, only 135... vs the 190-210 the other 3 have.
