Rally2003's Build Thread

Wow I need to update this...
Getting ready to transplant the motor from the white MSP into the dd silver MSP. Bought new sets of axle nuts for both of them. Just waiting for the weather to stop snowing so I can get some work done to her. Just unwrapped a gently used Fidanza flywheel and Excedy stage 1 clutch for MSP#1 (white). I also ordered some cf for making the AC-PS plug delete and will be making it a removable option so it will bolt up with the canister that is on the firewall. I'll also be using some of the extra material to make a gauge cluster plate for the din area. Then I need to pick up some more material to start forming my new front end, but it will need to warm up before I can do any kind of resin work.

Made my A/C delete panel for the firewall. Turned out pretty goo and looks way better than starring at the damn hole lol.

Winter need to end!
Next on the list will be swapping motors over, putting the 450lb springs back on the front, and hopefully some fender/front bumper work.

A lot has happened over the last couple of months. The Unicorn motor that was in the white car is now in the Silver MSP. I tore apart the other motor last weekend to find out I need to replace the bearing in the bottom end of the motor and swap the head out because of a snapped camshaft bolt. I have the bottom all put back together, but found out I don't have a I don't have a 3/8 13mm long 12pt socket to torque them down. FML. Could have easily had the motor back in the car today, but I guess it will have until tomorrow :(

Hopefully I'll have her back together by Sunday and but some miles on her and a oil change before autoX next Saturday and Sunday.

Get rid of that cover that goes on the firewall before you put the motor back in. It looks so much cleaner in the engine bay without it and your AC delete will even look better as well.

That will be coming out next time around. This last week I cut my bumper and fenders to fit my 255's at race height until my fenders are done. That didn't work as planned. Went on my first run at autoX and rubbed at the first bolt where the bumper and fenders connect. Had to raise it back to 4x4 status for the rest of the event, but not a huge deal. The bigger deal was my clutch slipping at 6psi at WOT. So the fenders will have to wait a little longer until I get a new insert for the Fidanza flywheel and a new stage2 Spec clutch.

Wow! In much need of an update. Looks like I'll be buying yet another MSP, but this will be a rolling chassis. Blazing Yellow, clean title, and a lot less miles on the body than the white car. The biggest plus is there is a lot less under carriage rust and not external rust. Should have it by the end of the month and will be swapping all the parts over from the one to the other will doing all the weight shaving and panel changing. Since the motor needs swapped too, it will be getting forged as well. Hopefully she'll be running before summer.

Let the games begin!

Giggity. Looking forward to it all. Too bad you don't live closer so I could help out.

Nobody ever wants to move to Columbus :(

I do like Columbus too and there would still be TEA events.

Great lakes only holds one event there usually and not on the same day I plan my meet.

Any place in Ohio is better than Toledo. I guess add Youngstown in there too.

and now there is 3...
