raising fuel pressure

is there any way on a p5 to raise the fuel pressure a couple of pounds? without installing a computer or something to that effect

There is a trick but it will always keep the pressure high. ALWAYS.
You can crush in the top of the factory regulator a tad.

Just get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Lots of companies sell them. It goes on the return end of your fuel rail and you can dial in teh pressure that you want. Just remember to not make it higher than what your injectors can handle.

Dangerous, I have no clue.
The boys at Flyin Miata mentioned it. Ofcoarse once you do it there is no turing back.

Probably to better equip the engine to handle Nitrous. Other then that, as the car runs stupid rich, it would hurt perfomance.

can someone tell me why you would want to increase fuel pressure?? more power?

You only need to do it once you are forcing more air in to the engine that the stock fuel pressure can handle. In general this means turbo, supercharger and nitious. Sometimes you can do it with a ram airsystem where just a few pounds more will cure the need for fuel.

Sorry to be a pain in the ass mod, but we are trying to clean up all the forums to make it easier to search for items, and less cluttered. In the future, please post in the appropriate forum...example - Intakes, dispite being for the Protege5, belong in the performance section. Buying a carbon fiber hood for your Protege5 belongs in the Appearance section. If you raced someone in your Protege5 it still belongs in the Racing/Motorsports section. If you have any questions, comments, or complaints, feel free to PM me at any time.

Thanks again for your patience as we clear up the forums to make it better for you!

Move it on over, move it on over big dawg, the bad mods coming in!

Here we go to the performance section
