radar detectors

I got my first speeding ticket today doin 55 in a 40. Got pulled over by an undercover cop :bs:

Anyway my question is if radar detectors are worth it and which one works the best. I have heard mixed stories about em so im not sure if i wanna shell out 100$ for one

$100 bucks! What radar detector is that cheap that is decent? The top 2 detectors right now are Escort Passport 8500 and Valentine One if your serious and want a detector that will be really accurate go for these. I have the Passport 8500 myself and installed this week. So far its not bad. Picked up some nice alerts where the cop was down the street about a 1/4 mile in city. Just remember having a radar detector doesn't mean you can speed. Just use it as a tool to help you know what's going on around you if being observate isn't your strong point and your trying concentrate on driving in traffic.

i totally forgot to tell rism about that feature! well, here goes.

rism, underneath the banner on top of the page, you will see a few buttons. in order from left to right, the search button is the third button. it is between the chat button that no one uses and the members button. most, if not all, your questions can be answered using this button. i say this not to be condescending, but rather to save you the harshness of 10 "veteran" people telling you to search. the answer, more than likely, is already here. after searching, and you still don't have an answer, go ahead and ask for some help. people around these parts are really nice. we'll point you in the right direction.

NO, NO, NO, NO!!!

Escort SRX and the Escort SR7. The valentine is a paper weight compared to these. The 8500 is only mid line for escort.

Oh my bad I should of paid the $500 for the SR7 But at least its a passport. I ended up using that $200 on that group buy this morning anyways, remember the product your authorized vendor for

radar will just give you a false sense of security but it will also tell you when you are about to get pulled over! hehehe
