Rack on v. Rack off

So I was looking at my P5 (with the roof rack on) and wondering what it would look like without it. Then I figured this would be a great forum topic. Lets see what y'all have to say.

IMO it looks better off. There are tons of pics on peoples sigs and in posts with both. I think more off than on though... mine's off.

i like it with the rack off, plus it makes it quieter when i have the sunroof open.

i like it with the rack on . . . espeically since im moving right now i have a huge ass rack bag on there with all of my clothes . .its going to be a fun time driving down the interstate with all this s*** in my car. .. ..

Mine didn't look bad w/o it. Doesn't look bad with it either, though I haven't put the crossbars on yet. I think I'm the only one to get a 03.5 and then install the rack!

i bought my rack filler pieces off of a member here, i guess dealers aren't giving them out anymore or something...

i like it off obviously

I like mine, it's a unique rack, and plus, I do use it to carry my bike or skis.

I took the rack fully off and traded a canadian P5 for the filler strips. If you havent already, theres a how-to I made in the how-to section with pics of it off.

With them off, it makes your car look low lower.

I did it for fun one day just to see how it would look, and they haven't gone back on since. Plus, they do make a lot of noise.

i keep mine off because i have ski racks on them and dont want to drive around with ski racks on all the time.

i like how it looks both ways. sleek off, sporty on.

I looks cleaner completely without the rack...
With only those fat black raised side bars it looks too top heavy...
With the complete rack on, including cross bars, it looks more complete...

Same for me. And I like mine on. Besides it would be too much work to take off.

For me the noise issue made the difference. I actually like the looks better with the rack on, but the car is a lot quieter with it off. Mine are off and won't go back on unless I need to tie something up there.

I have an 03.5 and want to put my roof rack on too I was even willing to pay my friend who owns a stereo shop to put it on, he told me it wasn't worth the time. Anybody wanna help a fellow member out (So Cal folks hint hint )

i just bought the filler strips to take mine off...i'll probably take it off saturday...i've lowered my car and it just looks retarded with the roof racks on...imo

I like the look of it on ... but it is noisy. I've only had my 2003 P5 for less than 2 months. I hadn't realized the noise was created by the roof rack. But it does make sense. I just added 2 bike racks so I guess the roof rack is stayin on for the time being. That's actually how I found this site. I was looking for information on how to mount the bike racks and my internet search brought me to this site. Got the help I needed ... thanks to this site.
