Racing Seats - which are good/bad?

i think that if any of those seats really were dangerous that there would be laws against them. i'm sure they have to follow certain rules. i'm sure some are safer than other but the less expensive ones arent made of cardboard

haha, thats the worst thing you think. Ignorance isn't bliss if a seat kills you.

Just because there isn't a law against it doesn't mean manufacters can't and won't sell you products that may put you in danger. Thats why seats like TenzoR's come with disclaimers about "this is not a saftey device" or something along those lines.

im just saying that "i'm sure some are safer than other but the less expensive ones cant be made of cardboard"

you can pay 1500$+ / seat for Bride carbon fiber seats or 400$ for another brand and if you hit another car face to face chances are your bride seats won't keep you alive even if they are 4 times the price.

I would stay away from G-Force and Ractive and APC (and that crap that you can find at 100$ each at the corner store)

but don't you think that IF those seats were really dangerous for you that some ricer kids would've already died and that it would be known that those brands arent safe enough?

i'm just talking here, not really trying to start anything :)

i know Sparco's say "50 state legal for offroad use only" hehe which means nothing

I agree, just trying to help people know that there isn't a law out there and when selecting something that could save your life, you want the proven equipment. To me its just putting a price tag on your life and that buying cheap seats is like telling yourself that you aren't worth that extra 300 bucks for a seat.

And don't get me wrong here, if someone made a proven seat for less money then go for it. I am not sparco sponsored or anything, just giving a little guidance.
