racing seat install help

whats up guys, like the title says I need a little assistance with my NRG type R style seats, they came with the sliders but I have no idea which brackets to buy or how to fab my own, if anyone has some recommendations or pics of their own fabbed brackets please post them here, thanks.

Last aftermarket seats I got I was able to just drill new holes in the oem rails

You could do it the easy way and drill holes into scrap metal and make it work that way

I bought Corbeau seat and seat bracket. Their seat bracket already has a slider on it. I wouldn't recommend that you fab your own seat bracket unless you know what you are doing. You wouldn't want the bracket to fail during an accident.

i've read about people removing the brackets on the stock seats and modifying them to fit an aftermarket seat. you'll definitely need a welder if you decide to do something like that. otherwise you could just get something like this:

is there a difference between a protege and portege5 seat bracket?

well i just bought seat brackets off of another member, and now after looking at the nrg seats there is no way to mount the seat belt as it attaches to the p5 seat, any suggestions on a fix

You could tap a hole into the floor. Or make a bracket and mount it into one of the bolts for the seat. Either way probly won't be the safest but still better than not having one at all

More than likely those seats were designed to for use with a harness

yeah it was definitely meant for a harness

There are multiple ways to rig it up, just figure out what makes you feel safer.

I personally don't trust older seat belts and would much rather have a harness
