Racing MS3 from stop.

you have got to be kidding...

1100 will bog like hell...

wheelspin would be better than an 1100 bogged launch...

I think I read that Mazda told the car reviewers to launch at 2600 or 3200? I cant remember, Either way you gotta feather it.... (breakn) and if you play the clutch right I dont think it should bog launching at 1100? just not the results your looking for :)

1500-3000 rpms should be fine. Anything above that is pointless IMO. You can launch at 1100rpms but not if you want the best times. It'll take some practice to get it right.

Yes..I believe mazda said to launch at 2600 and power shift 2nd 3rd and 4th at 5,500 rpm. When I say power shift I mean dont let up on the gas.

@2500-2900 im getting the best launches. but this has you working over time when driving it hard. i love it

I'm having a hard time getting a good launch... problem is, if I *drop* the clutch, I get this loud bang sound (which other forum members have said is wheelhop) that scares the s*** outta me and really sounds bad for the car. On the other hand, if I try to *slip* the clutch (letting the clutch out more slowly), it seems it is very easy to burn the clutch (smell like overheated brakes in the cabin), and will also just spin the tires all through first gear, which, while fun, is not fast.

I've driven a few high power FWD cars and been able to get good launches but this car seems extra picky about how you do it. I don't want to break parts with clutch drops and I don't want to destroy my clutch... so I'm not sure what to do.
