Racing Beat...

Is the exhaust worth the price?
Does it give the same ammount of HP gains?
Does it actually sound louder than the stock exhaust?

I did search but I don't have time to read everything.

Thanks

Like everything else exhaust sound is personal preference but, the Racing Beat system is a great sounding Exhuast. I have it on my car and it's a low and clean Brrrrrrrrrmmmmm. Like an engine should sound. It's a different sound from stock, but I bet if we ran a test it is within a few DB of stock loudness. It's NOT a loud, riceboy exhaust.

My own personal feeling is that since Racing Beat designed the MP3 exhaust under contract to Mazda we'd be stupid not to take advantage of their expertise. As far as I know Racing Beat is the only firm that has posted dyno numbers on their Protege exhausts.

Final thought...adding this exhaust and an Injen intake, made my engine feel very different. I don't know about horsepower numbers, but the throttle response is a lot quicker. All of the herky jerky low rev feeling is gone. Soo...Personally I think it was a good investment
:D

well, if you read though the posts from your search, you would know every thing becuase it has been discussed.

AND, racing beat only makes a cat back system, of which the rear section will NOT bolt up to the stock rear section. (thier exhaust will give roughly 4-5 hp over stock at the wheels) mazda makes a rear section, comparable to what was supplied on the mp3, that will work with the stock system. (provide roughly 1-2 hp over stock at the rear wheels) mazda also has for sale a mazdaspeed rear section that works with the stock system. (might give 2-3 hp over stock at the rear wheels)

each one of these systems will really only give you a little more noise depending on your tastes.
