Racing Beat Springs

Hi, I'm new to the board, and I own a Midnight Blue Protege5 (yes I am out of place), but I have a question about the Racing Beat springs. Are the MP3s all equipped with the Racing Beat springs listed on their site that lowers the car 0.875" all around? I've considered getting them as it seems to me their springs would be the best quality since they did all that r&d, but if it only drops the car as much as a stock mp3, then I'd probably go with Eibachs ...

If the mp3s do come equipped with Racing Beat springs, does somebody have a picture of a P5 and a MP3 side-by-side so I can make a comparison?

Thanks in advance!

The shocks were actually done by Tociko <spelling?> not racing beat.

And I'm pretty sure they won't fit a p5 as racing beat had to really rework the inner wheel hubs in order to get them to fit.

The more techy guys here can fill you in on the real details, but that's my 2 cents.

btw: Ain't nothing wrong with the p5, welcome.

The shocks and springs are two different things Newf. The springs on our MP3's are Racing Beat and our shocks are Tokico. As for the springs the dealers are selling I am not for sure if they are even Real Racing Beat springs but they should be the same specs as the MP3's. The drop is not even an inch so if you want the lower look I would go with the Eibachs sport springs. Although I have heard good things about the ride and control that the Racing Beats give a stock protege.

Maybe I was just checking to see if you were paying attention? hee hee, ok, maybe not. I stand corrected. Hey, it was late, I made a boo boo

later guys

Thanks for the help guys. Do you know how much the Eibach springs drop the P5? I checked on a few sites and it's all "in development". Then I ask a few local shops and they say they dont' know either. Absolutely not helpful ...

Anyone have experience with Skunk2 coilovers or the GC ones?

this is very true.
i have the racing beats installed on my protege 2000
and they don't lower it more than an inch
but it handles like a dream (more than i want from a car)
and the ride is more than nice

if you are for that category, def. get the racing beats spring, worth everypenny.

don't but it from the dealer though, get a used one from a MP3 who they might be upgrading their ride or something.
hope that helps(mj)

The MP3's springs are slightly different for the rear than it is on the Protege5, from what I've gathered. My suggestions would be to order the Racing Beat Protege5 specific springs from Racing Beat themselves; They offer the whole set for a little less than $200, which is right around where all the other springs range.
