Racing Beat Power Pulse CX-5 Exhaust

Or Someone is willing to do this type of mod just for pure sound . Since upgrading a axle back muffler doesn't produce any horses for the penny.

:)

Cool!

Some may want to do similar mods to their bikes:

Please note that this doesn't add any actual horsepower but the deep, masculine exhaust note will sound more powerful and bystanders will think it fast. ;-)

LMAO !! even though its not relevant to the topic but i must admit its a bang for buck mods for push bikers.
Yeah - it was a lot of fun.

As kids, we would experiment with different placement and numbers of cards to get the most "manly" sounds out of our bikes. One kid down the street had so many cards on his rear wheel you could hear him coming from a block away. He would always be out of breath too. Must have been the drag from all those cards rubbing on his spokes, lol!

Not down with the sound.

Not that I was expecting any different, but it sound like any other dink, NA 4 cylinder with modified exhaust - like crap.

LOVE the appearance, though. Looks slicker than snot.

Thanks TampaMS3 for showing off my Racing Beat exhaust photos. I still enjoy the sound, I was not looking for something sounding crazy. I was wondering what size rims and tires you put on your CX-5? Offset? How is the mileage now with the bigger tires? I have the stock 19" on mine and I get 25MPG around town. Thanks.

Yes we are! That last pic you posted inspired me to completely rip you off. LOL. Good thing I'm up here in Indiana and you're down in Tampa or things could get confusing. Your roof rails are about the only thing that sets us apart. As for the wheels, no they are 20x10" just like yours. It's amazing how much they change the look of the CX-5. I get compliments on them all the time. Good taste my friend!

Which tow hitch is that (If that's your picture).

Well, the F20, F22, 4AGE, and S14 do sound marvelous.

So, I took my CX-5 in for her first oil change (free for the first change) and once they put her up on the rack it became quite a scene. The guy doing the oil change called his service manager over who then seemed to call everyone over and they were all focused on the exhaust. One guy hit it (lightly) with his fist which I found kind of an odd reaction. I just thought it was funny as it's not like Racing Beat hasn't been making products for Mazdas for a long time now. I suppose they probably don't see a lot of CX-5 owners really modifying their cars outside of the standard Mazda accessories.

Probably trying to figure out how to void your warranty....!
Nah, just kidding. Never had a dealer hassle me with an aftermarket exhaust while I was still in warranty.

LOL. The thought definitely crossed my mind.

Hi everyone, my first post. If the RB does nothing to add hp, are there any power adders on the market that can put the 2.5 over 200hp and not violate the warranty? BTW the muffler sounds really good.

That's going to be damn near impossible without breaking into the engine... Even with the best exhaust, intake, it's not going to happen... The only thing that might get it close is a custom tune with e85 (I doubt premium would do it)...

Does not matter, just looking for bragging rights. Guess if I make it look fast lowered with 20s, then add a crazy wing like the 1989 Mercury Merkur XR4Ti, I can probably convince others that its faster. I'm sure it won't be long before someone tries spraying a 50-shot of NOS. Wonder how SkyActiv would deal with it?

Don't do a dry shot... Get an afr, and someone who knows what they're doing if you really want...
Nos creeps me out so ill just say : do your research and find someone who knows more about it than you do...

Easiest ways would be a retune (when ever it's available) and add lightness...

I'm going to check out Goodwin Racing's Super Q. I'll do some measuring with the old Q on my NC2 to see if it will fit without too much surgery. Brian makes the best exhausts for Mazdas, no one comes close.

I have never sprayed, also creeps me out. Though had many buds that spray everything, crazy if you ask me. Forced induction is the only power adder I would consider, but will wait for BIG money folks to take the risks first, then I will support their efforts and buy a kit. I think a 7-8psi kit would be nice and could slap the Subie XT around too. lol
