Racing Beat exhaust Installed

Yea, I dunno what happened when the dude at the muffler shop cut the flange and the extension off. Some of that came off when I cleaned it. You're right, it shouldn't rust like that.

I have a mp3 racing beat exhaust that i am not using. Anyone intrested in buying it? Give me a good offer!

seeing as how he didn't use a stainless steel feed to weld with, the rust spots on your muffler are probably splatter that got embedded into the stainless during the welding process. take some CLR action to the rust and then spray it with a clear coat. it should take care of most of the rust.

Well, went to work today to find my Racing Beat cat-back waiting for me! Will be installing it Wed. morning, in the freezing cold. Wish me luck! (cheers)

(2thumbs) AWWW YEAH!! Just got back from my buddy's brother's shop--9:40, lift goes up. 10:00, lift comes down. Fire it up------sweet! Sounds perfect. Looks perfect. Fits perfect (even Jimmy was impressed!) No droning, idles smoothly, throttle seems more responsive, nice deep tone, not too loud.......Looks like my first mod was a winner! (rockon)

Sorry, no pics. Digi cam is on thr fritz.

Damn damn damn...I was gonna save money and get the Mazdaspeed, but I'm not crazy about the tip -- too big IMO. Now I want the RB cat-back. Dammit!!!!! There goes my spending money!!!

Sid -- measure the tip diameter for me, would ya????

yeah, rishie might have some and mitch at protege5online.com has them. other than that, you're gonna have to find private parties who are selling it.

I believe it's roughly 3.5 inches, slightly ovalized, and has an outer "casing" that is highly polished. Fits the cutout in the rear like it was supposed to be there from jump! I'm going to e-mail the sales rep i dealt with, and I'll ask him the exact dimensions.

Save up-it's worth it! (cheers)

Just wanted to update, I got my MSP Racing Beat exhaust tip shortened today. Looks 10 million times better. . .

Sid - thanks for the info...I'm definitely sold now. Measured the stock one last night -- meager 2.5 inches. 3.5 would be perfect -- 4.0 is a little over-the-top for me.

Time to start saving....

Remember, though, it's oval in shape, so it might be like 3.25"x3.5" or 3.75" or something. I e-mailed C. Cortez at Racing Beat last night to thank him for the outstanding service and great product, and also asked him about the tip dimensions. As soon as he gets back to me I'll let you know.

Haven't had my radio on since I installed the exhaust! Sooooooo Smoooooooth!! :D

That's ok...a 4-inch round tip is just too big IMO -- kinda looks out of place. Just not my style. Oval would be very nice -- although it doesn't look oval on their site. Thanks for looking into it for me!

I just installed my new MSP Racing Beat axel back yesterday. It sounds just pain beautiful. Not overpowering, or ricey at all. Since it came off the MSP I have to have it cut down becuase right now it sticks out like my car has a tail. Here is a pic.

That is a joke right? It looks like the muffler is a FOOT to long!(rofl2)
Good one man!

i just won the mazdaspeed p5 exhaust.

i will have pics and comparison before/after sound clips as soon as i get it, maybe monday?

McStark, Not a problem. Anything to further the cause.
It doesn't look real oval on the site, but i think that may be the angle of the pic (?). But once it goes on, it looks and fits great. there is a little less than a half inch gap between the tip and the cutout, and it is very even all the way around. Wish i could get pics for ya..........
