Racing Beat CBE for MS3?

Subbing...I don't have an exhaust yet and I'm curious about this one. This is my first Mazda so I was unfamiliar with racing beats reputation, sounds pretty good!

Oh snap. Very nice indeed. Hows the quality of workmanship? I know racing beat makes good stuff for the miata.

Okay I'm officially NOT impressed with the sound, it's just like the mazdaspeed one but quieter..wonder if it will have any kind of interior resonance. I guess I'll have to hear the real deal when I install it on thurday.

Quality of craftsmanship was superb - fit & finish is as clean as stock, if not better. Only thing that was difficult about the install was the u-bolt style clamp between the front & rear sections. If I didn't have access to a lift and air tools, it'd probably be more difficult.

As far as interior noise - minimal drone. I can't hear it over road/tire noise (Still running stock wheels/tires) and the a/c fan. If I turn everything off and am on some smooth road, you can hear it - it's soft, but it's there. Hell, it might just be me, but it sounds more quiet than stock from the interior.

The dual tips fit with the body lines a bit better to me - I've never been a big fan of the coffee can exhaust tip. I'd say this is the setup to go if you're going for a sleeper.

Having had a Magnaflow on my MZ3, not having an obnoxious drone is a big plus to me, as it passes the "Does the CBE irritate the wife/S.O./Sexual Acquaintance" test with flying colors.

I think it sounds really good. Can't wait to get mine :)

Kind of reminds me of the stock sound of a WRX with out the minor popping.

When I listen to the Corksport vids on YouTube, then compare the tone to the Racing Beat, the tone (particularly towards the higher RPM range) sounds similar. Maybe not the same depth or volume, but I can hear similarities.

Hmmm, well I suppose. I'll give you the straight answer next week when I compare it side by side.

I had a Protege MP3 before the MS3 and I gotta say, that the RB stuff on the MP3 was very nice for "stock"

Excited to hear they have Sway Bars available for the MS3.

the thing with the racing beat exhaust products is that now you can upgrade other parts of your exhaust for better power gains, while still retaining a conservative exhaust tone.

i have full exhaust setup, and love the sound. My car would sound gross (raspy/farty) with any other CBE.

get a DP and race pipe, and that sound will get louder, while still having a nice deep tone.

If I didn't have to worry about the smog traps they've been setting up around SoCal (already had a couple coworkers busted by them - gogo catless WRX/STI's), I'd definately consider the CP-E downpipe.
