damn that corksport one is pretty cheap, I'll probably end up getting that one. do they really give you around 25whp from deleting just one cat though? and the corksport pipe does bolt up to the stock exhaust correct?
I dont think you will get 25hp from this,Its more like 10-15hp I bet.
Why do you guys want a cat delete system? It won't pass inspection and you will notice the fumes. If you want a race car then this is a requirement, but a daily driver wants a cat. now the Mazda oem down pipe is very restricted. open that up and flow is increased enough to begin tuning> There are some reputable companies that offer a high flow cat system.
It will pass emssions and you will not smell anything if the pipe dont leak,Im not sure why you would say that stuff. Most all emssions places just check for cell lights and dont inspect anything if the cel is not on.Maybe you are thinking that a race pipe deletes both cats,It only removes the 2nd cat.
I second this. I was really worried about the smell, although seeing that the 2nd O2 was in front of this particular cat, I realized there was no chance of setting a CEL. I rolled the dice anyways, and am glad I did. There was no noticable increase in "fumes" or a rich smell, and of course, no CEL. There was a bit of an increase in volume, but more of a tone change (deeper) than louder. If you think the stock exhaust is loud, then you'll probably think it's worse. If you think the stock exhaust is OK, then you probably won't notice a big difference in sound.
so did you just install the downpipe and leave the race pipe alone?
Other way around. Stock DP, TXS RP.
I noticed very little with my test pipe...i'm sure the gain is there but it didn't bite me in the butt like the intake or boost controller did...and by deleting the last cat your not going to get heavy exhaust gas fumes...its not even noticable on my car.
