So I'm looking at getting this Dash kit for my 08 Ms3

To work with a Pioneer AVIC D3 head. My friend says theres a metra wire That I can use to make the bose work with an after market system is this also true?
The sho kit site says that I need to buy this other $119 adapter to get my bose system to work. Is t there a cheaper route or whats my options.
Also anyone know if the dark silver color on this sho kit one is a good color match the the MS3 dark silver?
Yes Ive searched this site and the other one but I just want cut and dry answers instead of squinting at photos and if I read anymore my eyes are gonna start bleeding.
