Hey people. I've figured out how the "Quick Stop" feature works by trial and error. I have the GT AWD with Tech Package so I carry the credit card type SmartKey plus I have AutoLock enabled. I do have the OEM Mazda Remote Start as well.

I cannot guarantee if my process will work on your car but I've tried it several times and it works on mine so I'm happy.

OK, here are the steps (assuming you've started the car remotely)

1. Get out of the car and close the door. Just stand by your door to operate the succeding steps. I will explain later why you need to stand by the door.
2. Using your Remote Start fob, click ONCE (horn sounds once)
3. Click it again, this time around you wont hear the horn
4. Click it the 3rd time but for at least 2-3 secs until you hear the door clicks
5. There is no auditory or visual cues to ensure that the doors are locked and that's why you need to stand by the doors so you can hear the door click and to physically check it.
6. Enter the store and buy newspaper, cigs, drink, etc (you might need these things just in case you got locked out....hehe just kidding)
7. As you approach your 14mpg crossover, click the remote start key ONCE and the driver's door should open. You might need to hold the start button for 2-3 secs to open the doors but just keep on clicking and the doors will open. It might also be necessary to click it TWICE to open all doors.

GOODLUCK. Pls report it here if it worked. Mine worked several times and haven't failed.

Hey! Thanks for figuring this out... I've been trying different combinations to get it to work and hadn't been able to.

Your method works great.... but I also figured this method out (using your "hold button for 2-3 seconds idea") -- see if it works for you:

Car's already running. Doesn't matter if it's been remote-started or regular started... BUT if you did remote-start it, make sure it's already disengaged (by turning the car to "on" and tapping the brake).

Press the button on the remote-start key fob once while stilling sitting in the driver's seat.

Exit the vehicle and close door.

Press and hold the remote-start key-fob button for 2-3 seconds. All doors will lock.

When you come back, press the button on the remote-start key fob to unlock the driver's door.
