Quick Question about Optima Red Tops

Hey Everybody...my battery is dying, and I need a new one. I know everyone loves the Optima Red Tops, and I think I am going to go with it, but several sites indicate that it's not the same size as the standard battery. Does it fit in the P5 with no modifications? The tie down bar and battery tray accommodate it with no problems? Just checkin...

For a difference of $43, the Optima is lighter and has 720 CCA/910 CA vs 640 CCA/800 CA for Duralast Gold. Both have 3 year replacement, but the Optima has no pro-rate. This is my thinking anyway...

I stand by the Wal-Mart Energizer Max batteries. Those things are great, and it goes down to -35 pretty frequently here in the winter, so we NEED good batteries.

On the plus side... red tops do look verrrry good in a P5 engine bay.

Agree, I have them in all 3 of my cars and have been using these batteries for years w/o issue.

Use the adapter or buy a fancy battery box :) (yes mine is a blue top but u get the point)

Got my red top for $145...awesome. Realized after I got home that it didn't come with a spacer...not so awesome. Hopefully NAPA will have one in their warehouse I can get tomorrow. Blah.

So, problem (mostly) solved...I called Optima, and they're going to send me the height adapter. But it's out of stock, so I'll have to wait for a few weeks. At least my current battery still works!
