Quick HID/xenon question...

Is the headlight pattern with the factory HID (GT tech package) lights much wider than "normal" cars? My wife drove my CX-5 last night (for the first time at night) and she commented that the headlights (fogs were turned off) seemed VERY wide (and she found the excessive lighting up of the sides of the road to be distracting.)

While at it, is it normal for the HID lights to... for lack of a better word... to bobble? As an example, after hitting a bump, it seems that the beam cutoff bounces up and down a bit. My first guess is that this is a result of the auto-levelling, but I really don't have a clue.

Thanks
Gary

Yes it is normal on all counts. Manufacturers strive to have the widest, evenest, and clearest lighting...

Also, when you're driving and you turn the wheel, the lights move left/right with the wheel.
Mazda's HID lights are one of the best in the industry.
After several weeks of driving, have your wife drive another car without HID and she'll start complaining again.
