Folks,

re tpms- does it just alert you when tires low or does it actually show you on the screen what the pressures actually are in psi?

thx

There is just a TPMS light on the instrument cluster. There is no knowledge of what tire is low, you have to discover which one is low by checking them all. The CX-5 system is different, in that there is not an air pressure sensor in the tire, rather the car uses the ABS wheel speed sensors to detect a different rotational speed on the low tire to alert the TPMS.

This is why its important to set the tires to the proper pressure and then reset the tpms sensors. They work based on change of pressure rather than knowing the proper pressure.

EXACTLY! Well said!

That's great, i was expecting that i will have to buy 4 new sensors for my winter set-up.
Really good to know.

YES! I think it is brilliant! It saves money at manufacturer, saves maintainence costs for customer, and saves tiny bit of weight...

I actually had mine go off this weekend, kind of scared me. I heard I high pitch about 5 beeps. I had no idea what the noise was from at first, when I looked at the instrument cluster I saw the TPM light on. I know what it was because the icon was the same one from the TMP setting button. I looked and all my tires were fine. So while in park I pressed and held the TPM button to reset the sensors to say the current pressure is okay. I then stopped at a gas station and made sure all the tires were at the right pressure and then reset the TPM again. It is kind of a cool system but would be nice to know with a number beside it what tire triggered it off so you can check for a nail etc...

I like the fact that it draws your attention with the beeping, that is really good as you want to know right away if your tire pressure is low.

I got my cx-5 recently from China. It's made in Japan and exported to China. The car doesn't have the TPMS feature, does it means that the car doesn't have the sensor in ABS to detect the unnormal pressure?

As I knew, Mazda had closed the factory in Detroit of USA. Does it means that the car selling in US also come from Japan?

How to add this TPMS feature?
Or, I just should buy a 3-party TPMS with sensors in tires?

Thanks in advance.

How to add TPMS module for cx-5?

From what i know all of the CX5 come from Japan.

The importer disabled this feature? or the Manufacturers did this?

As I know, cx-5 imported to Australia also doesn't include this feature. I am concerned about how to add or enable this feature?

Does it have TCS and DSC and Anti-lock brake? (Traction Control and Dynamic Stability Control)
