question on factory alarm!!!

Does the mp3 have factory alarms? I cant get mine to go off. I can lock all the doors and open the windows and open the door from the outside and it still dont go off. Can somone help me out or isnt this a factory mod? Dathan

the mazdaspeed comes with a perimiter alarm. This has been discussed in many forums. I had a red light on my dash, but didnt think I had a alarm on the car. After reading many posts on many different forums, i discovered a little black box with a sensitivity agustment under the steering colum of the Msp. My sensitivity was ALL the way down, so basically it was off. Check that

Also, I have the red button on my key-less entry and when I press it, the car goes off like an alarm. Does that mean I have an alarm?

all the cars have the red button on the key chain. if you have the perimeter alarm on your mp3 it will have a flashing red LED on the sterering colum between the wheel and gauges. Its was a $250 option. Its a CODE alarm, i think it works very well. I have a question to other: are those little black rubber pads located on all the doors and trunk part of the perimeter alarm? if not what are they. the are little black squares about 3/4"x3/4"???

The MP3 did not come from the factory with an alarm. An alarm could have been installed at the dealer as option. All the cars came with the keyless entry.

paulmp3 are you referring to the little black flap type deals at the bottom of the doors, if so then you are speaking of the little water drains to keep water from standing inside the doors after a rain/wash. Someone else started a thread about this a long time ago thats how i figured out what they were along with the problem of after i dry my car and close the door water always seemed to come out of nowhere and it pissed me off until i figured out what it is

mine came like that from the factory, i was there the day the car arrived, about 20 mins after it came in, they installed nothing except for my wheel locks and my center caps for my wheels. It says right on my window sticker perimiter alarm as an option.

Yes , just check under your steering colum. Every MSP will have one. Then just adjust the sensitivity on the little black box. If you dont know if you have one or not, chances are that your sensitivity is all the way down
