MazdaSpeed3 2008 GT. Cold air intake
I have a 2008 (first half of model year) MS3. The only aftermarket change is a cold air intake. I have noticed that on occasion, with no real rhyme or reason, that when my car is idling it will produce white exhaust smoke. this occurs sometimes when I first start the car, and other times after I have had it on the road for 30 or 40 minutes. I cannot tell if this varies from tank to tank of gas, but am inclined to think so. My initial instinct is that it would be antifreeze leaking into the motor via radiator core or head gaskets, however, this exhaust has no real smell to it. Usually antifreeze has a sweet smell. I also have not noticed any fluid losses, although I will be double checking that tonight. has anyone encountered this or something similar? Any thoughts on what to check? Thanks all.

Lord have mercy, not again. I realize you are new and this is your first post. But please search.

There are tons, literally tons of threads and discussions here about the smoking exhaust, smoking turbo, etc. issue. There have been several technical service bulletins about this issue. Not all "smoking" is attributable to the turbo and or positive crank case ventillation issues being discussed. Sometimes it's just condensation. But please read up.

If you have problems with the search engine here, try using Google and start your search with "mazdas247" and then your search terms.

Search is your friend.

Hell, just enter the single word "smoke" in our search engine (upper right hand corner of the page) and several lines down in the response is an entire "sticky" on the subject. I think it is about 31pages and over 450 posts just in that one thread! Be sure to read all the way to the end. And there are many, many other threads.
