Question For the people In Arizona

I'm really excited to get to Arizona, though I'll have to drive it will be long. Damn once i get ther i still have to find an apartment, and possibly get a roommate......don't want to get one but might be cheaper...

prices in phoenix are about how much they are in sacramento in terms of housing costs. $900 or there abouts for a decent apartment. you can definitely find them for cheaper if you go to a studio or single bedroom. and DON'T MOVE IN AUGUST. i made that mistake. we couldn't "move" anything till after dark, and even then, it was still 90+ at 9pm.

s***, well if I don't delay my start date, i'll be moving there in June. Which I don't really want to do, cause I get done with my Junior college towards the end of May. I'm trying to get there in September, but the school keeps saying there aren't any open spots, so i'm calling them for 2 more weeks, if that doens't work they, have a spot open for August. If its not full in two weeks. I'll probably have to rent some kind of truck or something to haul my bed, and stuff, and then end up towing my car.....seems confusing but hopefully i'll be able to pull it off.

i'd move in june if i were you. august is the end of monsoon season and the weather is real weird. i remember my first summer here. i went to school and it was 107 out. went to class, came back out and it was hailing and 97 degrees. it was like hell was freezing over.

It will not only be hot but humid as well. It can be done though. Phoenix is the 5th largest city in the nation. So a lot of people have made the move.

I'm totally confused! I don't know if I should stay with my JUne start date or delay it till August. Now, if I choose stay with JUne I don't get summer Vaction, remember this is a provate school. And the sooner I go the sooner I know if Uti is what i really want...I'm lost in this one........any suggestions

I actually go to UTI, I live in scottsdale it's a hell of a commute. I will graduate in Nov. so i'll probably see you there. Peace out. Oh yea, if your not ready to go to school EVERY day and not be late and get a 4.0 then I say go. It's pretty useless to go there unless your planning on going to a grad program. I personally don't see the point of going there because it will be a waste of your time and money without the grad program, there are better options out there if you want to just learn. I have a 4.0 and 100% attendance because I'm planning on Audi or BMW. If you have any questions let me know.

Well, i canceled my trip and school thing for June, because my dad wants me to go in January. So i'll be coming then....Whats the weather like during then? I really do hope there isn't any delay on me coming in January.........

january weather round these parts is like springtime anywhere else. mid 70's for highs and unless you come during a freeze, it's like 40's or 50's at night.

Hey Whats Up Im going to start UTI in Sept. Im really excited and ready to see all the MSPs down in Arizona

Sept is a good time to move to AZ if you are living in the desert. Temps will be nice that time of year. Coming from MN you will need to get used to the heat. Just remember if you get to hot in Phoenix or Tucson I am only a few hours north and you can come play on the pine shaded roads of my side of the state.

Hey got a question for those who go to UTi, do you think its worth going just for the sport compact performance program and the hot rod program. I here those two are part of the basic classes you get to take?? I am singed up for all of that plus the manufacture program too, but i have decieded not to take the manufacture program..
opinions and comments would be great, just trying to see if its still worth to go there

Um ya, they got you all confused huh? Well there are three hotrod classes. Two power and performance and one bolt on. Bolt on involves some sport compacts but there isn't any specific sport compact class. The program already includes those however. You do not sign up for manufactures programs, you have to get accepted into them ie GPA attendance and professionalism. There are two classes however than can be taken for an extra fee. Those two are Ford FACT and BMW STEP. Ford FACT is worthless IMHO, BMW STEP is cool you come out as a level one tech. Honda is coming soon for a man. program but yea, again you have to test in. Any more questions let me know.

cool, thanks. From what I know I signed up for the 115 Automotive Technology, its 73 semester credit hours. I'm confused as hell, man I''m goin through the catalog trying to figure out what exactly im singed up for.

The other part of the question now that u have brung up there are 2 power and performance classes and a bolt on one. and three hot rod ones, is it worth it if i still attend, but just to go to those classes? I might just have to talk to future student services or my rep. Would any of those classes teach you how to build an engine? How about getting a job of some sort. I'm not interested in any of the manufacture programs, my rep was telling me about them but i have changed my mind. I know if you get a good GPA and attendance and pass the classes your guarrented a job at a dealer.

Help!!

Sorry must have written it wrong, there are three classes for hot rod in total. The only options there are right now are:
Straight auto
Auto Diesel
BMW STEP
Ford FACT

Thats the only classes you can take. In the two power and performance classes you build a 350 small block in one class then the next class you put that engine you built into a Ford T-Bucket. Then you add parts and stuff onto there.

So I'm guessing I signed up for Auto. In the regular auto you get to take sport compact and hot rod classes right? or are they extra charge or something?

You sound like you signed up for auto, yes hot rod is included and no there is not a sport compact class. Sport compacts are mixed in with bolt on performance.
