question about...

:
Mazda 6s
this is going towards m6 owners in CA...i was wondering what kind of tint some of you guys have on your m6's... i know theres no law for the rear passenger tint %age...but what about front...do you guys still do a tint in the front and juss say F the police...haha or do u guys follow the rules...

Its illegal in every state to tint the front window. You can however legally tint a set amount of distance from the top of the front windshield down about 3-5 inches (depending on state).

Its illegal because it can drastically effect your ability to drive at night, endangering yourself and others. Technically if your tinting the front, you just made your car a "show only" car...and will need a trailer to tow it around.

I'm pretty sure that when you got pulled over for front tint (not if, WHEN) they'd make you take it off on the spot with a razor blade.

as for windsheld...come to DC and you will see 5% windshields on some cars..to include CrOcKeD MPD cars thenselves.

most places except dc alow you to tind the driver and passenger front windows but to a certain % before needing a perscription. I have ohio tags so I can spraytint and be cool till I go back home.

Tinting...

I know that the front windshield. there is a 6 inch limit in CA. As far as driver and front passanger there should be no tint, but you can get away with a medium shade. My 6s is Lapis Blue, and i have limo tint all the way around, and the I have the sunshield, to its legal limit. It makes a big difference with all the windows tinted. When I bought my 6 in summer of 2003, i traded a VW Bettle Turbo Sport. and i didnt have tint, and i did some interior work on it, and the 6 gets so hot inside. Limo looks so much better with this car, it looks more sleek...

yeah that was my only complaint. driving a vehicle with 20% and then trading in for the 6 "DA 6". I have a friend with same color car with I beleve 35% so I am cool with just that since I plan on going home alot more than I did with my other car. if your local L.E. is sticklers about tint then get the lightest functional tint possible...
